rip off rent a center
hi i purchased a surrond sond from ace witch was purchaced by rent a center. it has been hell since i make good money an really didnt need to go thru them but i was in a middle of a divorce an didnt no what i was going to get so i rented from ace rental. i made my pay ments every weeek to ace an there was no problem until they was purchace by rac. first it was 2 to 3 people calling me a week asking for payment then it was threads. like i said but i was to far into paying for it.
to let it go between ace an the new contract with rent a center i have paid 3000 dallors for a 500 dallar surrond sound.there is more to this storie but im not good at wrighting. anyway i owe 65 dallors on this account an sent them a check to pay it off certified mail they said that they dont take checks an that i owe a late fee.
they have no drop box they dont take checks they want you to phyically walk in there every week . there has to be some law against them refusing payment an doing this i am so mad an mentaly up set over this that im willing to spend money on a lawyer.

they may be a rip off but they do have drop boxes that you can put a check or money order in at night.

First off Rent A Center is a rip off because they make you pay double the money for their merchandise. But they do have a drop box on their door . Well the one where I live does.
Next time I advise you to not go with any rental company if you want something. Trust me I have done it to thats why I don't rent I save then buy what I want.
Also they don't clean their merchandise before they rent it again they spray it with a cleaner then rent it out. just to let you know. That is gross.

Once you found out they didn't except checks. Your first question should have been What type of payments do you except. They would have told you cash,credit,debt,or money order. So you could have mailed a money order and payed your bill as long as you mailed it a few days prior to the do date so it doesn't get there late. Or you could also filed a debt or credit card with them and call in every week and tell them to charge it. Their are a lot of ways to make your rent a center expierence a lot less stress full.

I too used to rent from RAC but that is until i became an employee.(big mistake) That place is run like crap! they dont know how to treat employees and their customers. I am sorry for the way that they treated you. It is worse working for them!
