My husband is a self employed truck driver. The company where he works slowed down before christmas so he called another company who he worked for before to see if they had any extra work for him until his other job picked back up.The name of this company is Silvercreek Logistics Inc. in Columbus,Ohio. He gave him some weekend work in December 2001 and still has not been paid.We have called the owner Bill several times and keep getting excuses. If anybody has any suggestions please let me know.Nobody else should work for this man.He needs to be turned over to someone.Thank you for your time.

As of March 8th my husband has received his paycheck from Silver Creek Logistics. It's to bad this had to happen but I know it happens too often.I guess we need more laws to help with self employed truckers. They are taken for granted alot!!!!

Do you have a Bill of lading?

In the transporation industry as you know, A bill of lading IS a contact of carriage. I sure hope you have a copy which you can take to small claims court which I think you have a chance of winning or you can contact a collection agency to do your dirty work at a cost. A problem I see is thier definition of Reasonable Time for payment. Normally 30 days but could be 90 or even 180 days. I get settlements within 15 days. From now on you need to collect freight payment at the shipper's dock or just pull your trailer off thier dock and call another broker when dealing with them clowns. I will definitely think twice about Silvercreek in the future. I do appreciate the filing of your report on here and wish other drivers would do the same for legitimate reports. Information is what we need to win the war on rip-offs. Spend the $50 to talk with a lawyer please. You seem to have a case. Driving a truck for free isn't right.
