I, too, was a victim of what must be history's worst cellular telephone company. My problems seem to be over. At least I hope so. Here is what I did.

I filed an online complaint with the FCC. At the same time, I filed a complaint with the Attorney General of my state. I also mailed a detailed letter to Worldcom Wireless, letting them know that I had also complained to the FCC and the Attorney General.

Worldcom Wireless eventually called me to tell me they cleared my accounts of all charges and closed the accounts as requested. No further aggravating billings have been received since that time.

To file a complaint with the FCC, go to this page:
http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/cib/fcc475.cfm
and fill out the form.
If that's too much for you, you can mail a complaint to:
FCC
445 12th Street, SW
Washington, D.C. 20554

Or you can just email them at: scoop@fcc.gov

If your dealings with Worldcom are entirely intrastate issues (within your state), then don't go through the FCC. Your complaints should be directed to your state Public Utilities Commission

Frankly, I wish everyone would tell the FCC, Public Utilities Commissions, and their Attorney General to look at all the cellular complaints here at badbusinessbureau.com. Has anyone noticed the quantity of complaints? And it grows by the day!

To write a letter to MCI Worldcom Wireless, use this address (note, I was told MCI parted ways with Worldcom, so your issues are with Worldcom now, not with MCI):

Consumer Affairs
WorldCom
1200 South Hayes Street, 11th Floor
Arlington, VA 22202

Isn't it amazing how this company can change the way it does business, and under what name they operate, and not inform the customers about it?

Since there are so many attorney general offices, you will have to look up the right address for the one for your state. I was able to file my complaint with my state online. Perhaps you can do the same. Note, even if all these officials do nothing, the important thing is to go on record with them. It puts Worldcom's antics under professional scrutiny, which motivates them to settle things with you.

I am particularly feeling bad for the senior citizens that are getting ripped off by this company. I have elderly parents myself and I know how confusing bills can be for them. Worldcom's bills and their exasperating "customer service" 800 number techniques are way too much for many people to endure. It's overwhelming for many seniors. This nonsense MUST END!!!
