Vinnie Spoaracio and Sam Rines contacted my son's aau basketball coach, they offered my son a chance to become a better basketball player. They explained they would give him a partial scholarship to come and train with them at Rise. Vinnie and Sam said I would need to give them a deposit of $4,000, to hold my son's spot. I asked if the deposit was refundable, they assurred me it was. I still had not signed anything or committed to them. I agreed to deposit, $2,000 into Sam Rines bank account, to hold a spot for Chris. The deposit balance was to be paid on 8/25, if we decided to enroll our son there.

My husband and I met Sam and Vinnie for the 1st time in Las Vegas. We watched the #2 teams they had entered into the tournament. They agreed to come watch our son play the next day. They never showed up or called. We decided based on what we saw on the basketball court, what we had heard about their program, and the lack of interest shown by both, not to send our son there.

I called Vinnie and Sam, the next day and gave them the news. Vinnie indicated he would call me when they returned to PA. I explained I needed the money back to register my son for school in 3 days. He never called. I called Vinnie and Sam several times. I texed them, this was the way Vinnie and I spoke many times.

They both continue to "duck" my calls. My emails go unanswered.

I filed a complaint with the PA Attorney General. I am going to hire an attorney.

Parents beware. These men completely misreprented the facts to me.
