Just wanted to get it out there that Trisha Porter, AKA Rising Phoenix has been going under the name of Trisha Prater.  I am assuming that is a married name now.  She does not use her own name on her scam of a rescue facebook page, and only has it labeled Rising Phoenix posting several tear jerking pictures of success stories and a few good reviews.  This woman is a liar, an animal hoarder, abuser and is absolutely dangerous. I have English Mastiffs and have had them for over a decade.  A few years ago I wanted to adopt a rescue as a companion to my male after the passing of our beloved Rottweiler.  I found one on petfinder that she was listing, I noticed the head shots, and photos taken from an upper angle looking down at the dog and she looked lovely.  In retrospect the angle of the pictures was to hide her emaciated and bite ridden, poor sickly Staph infected body.  When she came to my home with this poor creature I was shocked.  My husband was shocked, and she actually proceeded to tell me that my 180 lb 18 month old male was too heavy, he was perfect.  She said I could save on dog food costs and get 30 or 40 lbs off of him, well when he matured at 245 he was full grown.  Apparently, starved is the look Tricia goes for.  I originally was going to take this dog out of pity, but when she tried to kill my cat, attacked my sweet male Mastiff and I saw all of the sticthes in her body from the fights and her stool when she pottied in my yard, which was not healthy looking, I called them and was outraged.  All they wanted was to keep the money.  In fact, when they were at my house after extorting a "donation" of $400 out of me, they wouldn't leave until I gave them cash for gas money, and they had 5 other dogs in their vehicle.  The dog should have been put down.  She had paperwork from a California shelter, which I called and the microchip number didn't exist.  With deep, deep sorrow I met them and gave her back.  Trisha's now husband, then boyfriend, got out of their car and tried to threaten and intimidate me.  They said they would make sure I never got another Mastiff again, yeah right, I am actually on the reputable side of the Mastiff world, and low and behold, "Molly" was back on petfinder.com within a matter of days listed as a sweet girl who loves to cuddle with no aggression problems in the world.  I did bathe her and feed her, and the stench of sickness that came off of her I will never forget.  She was dangerous.  She would kill another animal, possibly even for food as she was that starved, and who knows what she would have done to a small quick moving child.  I wish I would have kept her and euthanized her myself, as that would have been a better fate than going to back to whatever hell hole Trisha Prater hides them in.  I called the Yakima shelter and they know full well of her, and the Yakima Sheriff, and he said he knows exactly what she does, but he has never been able to catch her at, but they get complaint after complaint like mine about her.  Morale of the story, for God's sakes, research, not all "rescues" are really rescues.  Scam artists and horrible human beings will use even beautiful Mastiffs to try to make a buck.  So so heart breaking.
