rita allen. social worker. ms rita allen, social worker at el paso VA, left out important information on the report she wrote on april 7th 2020 texas el paso
On or about 3 march 2020, ms rita allen, left out important information on a brief report she wrote as a social worker for the department of veterans affairs at el paso texas. in doing so, she is providing an incomplete account of a situation that took place at the veteran transition living center, located in el paso texas. more than being incomplete, the report shows she handpicked precise informatioin to support her desired outcome of the situation; while, simultaneously, ignoring other facts that are important to consider for an objective review of the situation. her job is that of a social worker. her notes/reports do have an effect on the life of the veteran she is referencing on her work. thats why it is imperative that VA professionals adhere to strict ethical standards of their professions.
specifically, ms allen states "SW received report that veteran exited the program without consulting staff. veteran was admitted and did not return over the weekend". social worker (sw) relied on VTLC Staff for information to complete HOMES forms". attached find a note/report itself.
cell phone records indicate text communication between the manager of the Veteran Transition Living Center (VTLC) and the veteran. the man in charge of the shelter stated: "we kicked out your neighbor. do you want to comeback ? "" attached find the screenshot of the text message.
because the manager of the VTLC is considered to be staff, ms allen should be aware of this text exchange since she mentions that she relied on information from the staff to fillout certain official documents. further, the social worker, should also know that the veteran returned his key to the VTLC staff on the monday morning of march 23 2020. in the text exchange between the VTLC Manager and the veteran, the manager mentions: "we kicked out your neighbor. do you want to come back?" the statement references the fact that the veteran left the VTLC, in part, due to the fact that the next door veteran spent two nights consecutively banging on the walls during sleep hours until the early hours of the morning. the veteran arrived on march 21 and left on the 23rd, first thing in the morning.
the point is that the social worker is describing a situation entirely different from the story supported by the evidence generated during those two nights in which the veteran stayed at the VTLC. the relevance of this note is that it attempts to document the prevalent attitude of va staff to misrepresent the facts in order to paint a negative image of the veteran. ms allen could not contain her bias against the veteran: "veteran left without consulting staff" and the other "veteran did not return over the weekend."
another problem is that the other veteran banging on the walls was simply "kicked out." i can only hope they made sure the veteran who got kicked out was not having a health crisis.

How do you know what she wrote in her reports?? If you accessed her notes then you have violated the law because all pertinent notes are confidential. If you are not the person who was "kicked out" then there is no ripoff.
Social Workers have to uphold confidentiality and the notes they write are not privy to the public unless there is a Records Request form submitted to the proper department with the person requesting the records signature. SO once again, how do you know what this "social worker" wrote in their report??
