We purchased a truck from a seller in Pennsylvania on eBay for $27,350 which was recently obtained from the Ritchie Bros Auction in Chicago. A clean PA title was issued and given to us at time of our purchase, however when the title was processed by Ohio DMV it was branded Rebuilt Salvage. This salvage status was never expressed by Ritchie Bros or the eBay seller.

Upon our research on Carfax it was clearly labeled salvage condition and dated the branding in the year 2006. We researched further and discovered on line the details of an accident which landed the truck in a ravine on Interstate Hwy 70 at which time the vehicle was a total loss.

Ritchie Bros representatives (we spoke with Nicole 7 times)will not stand behind the misrepresented vehicle, because they feel they were also misled. Although teir rule #10 guarantees clear title, they feel it is not spplicable here. Ritchie Bros has no policy of verifying info given to them when they auction these items. If ever attending a Ritchie Bros auction, be sure to check out all representations because it is "Buyer Beware" and your money is lost.
