Upon arriving at the airport a man named Gerry represented himself as a Mexican government tourist employee and showed us his ID and gave us his cell phone number. He asked us if we would like to go on a tour and pay $80 instead of our hotel tour of hundreds of dollars to visit Mayan ruins and go deep sea fishing. He gave us a receipt with 100% guaranteed money back for our $80 deposit if we decided not to go.

Upon arriving at the hotel we learned that Gerry was a con artist who represented a time share scam and that we should talk to police when we returned to the airport prior to our departure to get our money back. I called Gerry, cell 0459981814099 and had the police talk to him. He said to go to the other terminal and he would return my money. Neither he nor any representatives from Sunset Fisherman's Resort & Spa were at the other terminal. Accordingly, We were ripped off by Gerry and the Sunset Fishermen's resort as assisted by the Cancun Airport providing them space at the airport to rip off tourists. The only real assistance we got was from another tourist company who loaned us the telephone to make the call--"No worries"-- was the the name of that company. The representative used a spanish curse word to describe Gerry and said that the other tourist companies commonly refer to Sunset Fishermen's Resort & Spa as "Sunshit" resort for the very reason I am reporting this rip off.

It is always best to hire someone skilled to do so, unfortunately in most cases these companies dedicated to cancel timeshares usually cheat for the second time to their customers since they are vulnerable and desperate. If you are thinking of hiring them you just have to make sure you do not have to make any payment upfront ... I found these articles that speak precisely about this, you should read them, that might help you to resolve many doubts:
