I went to apply for an unsecured loan from my bank and was denied, then I applied for a credit card with my bank and was denied. My bank told me to contact Experian wich I did and RJM ACQ LLC has me owing One Spirit book club 2 bills 1 for $89 and 1 for $120.

I have never heard of either company before and I have ask both companies to send me proof that I have ordred the things they say I owe for. I have recieved nothing from them, and I want my credit record cleared.

Elizabeth,

This is very simple to deal with, and you have civil recourse for your damages under the FCRA and FDCPA. Go to the FTC.gov website and read these acts, and you should print them out. File a complaint online for the erroneous collections and false credit reporting.

STAY OFF THE PHONE!! All communications need to be in writing. Send only by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified# on the letter itself, and keep a copy for your records. This is very important if it goes to court.

By the means above, just send a DEBT VALIDATION REQUEST as per your rights under the FDCPA and include a DISPUTE as per your rights under the FCRA.

Clearly dispute the debt, and demand to see whatever you allegedly signed to create the debt, as well as a full account history and proof that they are licensed to collect in your state.

Also demand that you want to see all communications involved by all parties in the "validation" of said debt. Inform them that failure to comply within 30 days will result in a lawsuit for damages.

DO NOT sign the letter to the collection agency, just print. And do not give them any personal or employment info.
