On Sunday April 1 2007 I opened a piece of junk mail and thought it was and April fools joke.

In an attemp to confirm the joke i contacted the said Co, in question they could not even pull up the account, no records or information.

RJM Acquisitions seems to think they can give three opportunies to pay a 17 year old debt i can't even prove is valid or mine.

Just back from the lawyers office, She said it was a waste of her time and my money. She said she was going to have fun with this one.

the sol ran out many years ago, She said it's just a bunch of people acting like lawyer just pushing their luck. She is sending letters to RJM, The FTC and to the FDCPA

If this was my debt why didnt it show up on my credit report when i bought my house. Things that make you go hmmm.

Arthur - newnan, Georgia, 246 individual FDCPA lawsuits would be better!

Arthur,

Class Action Lawsuits are only good for the lawyers involved. The victims/participants in a class action lawsuit RARELY see any money to speak of at all.

It would be better for each person to file a small claims lawsuit for the FDCPA violations. This would put at least 100x more money in each persons pocket and cost them more in costs.

AND, it would cause the FTC to get involved and close them down.

RJM is one of the very worst.

246 mad people maybe more

All the information I have read, seems to make me think we could form a class action suit against this rjm and put them out.

There are over 246 people who have filed and many more who have not.

I think it's time we fight back, too many of us just pay and go on. It's not my debt and I know for a fact Rjm will not scare me.

I will spend 10 times what they say I owe to put them out of bussiness.

In 1989 I was homeless and living on the streets of Chicago.
RJM you don't have what it takes to scare me.

I saw the same sort of letter

Someone showed me a letter which is probably just like yours, offering 3 convienient methods of payment. --It's a rip off. RJM is a debt buyer. The letter I saw said that the date of last payment on the "account" was 1993, well out of the statute of limitations. The SOL in my state is 4 years. Does yours have a date of last payment? I'll bet that it is out of your state's SOL. I'd send a letter (certified RR) telling them that the 1)the debt isn't yours, 2)the SOL has run, and 3) to cease and desist. If someone sends so much as a penny to one of these rip off companies, it will restart the SOL. This is what they are trying to make you do. Law Student
