I was in the Roanoke Coin exchange yesterday (3/18/17) and was interested in selling a bag of really old coins. I have dealt with old coins in a limited fashion, so I went in there to see how much he would offer. I have dealt with this man before. He is hardly ever in his store which means it is closed 75% of the time. I had a suspicion that he ripped me off the first time I dealt with him, but he is right up the road from my house.

When I went in there, he came from the back where he likes to hide. I pulled out all of the coins and he just started tapping on his calculator and said he would give me $60 for all of them. I know first hand that they were worth at least $300. I don't know what kind of desperate people he is used to dealing with but I told him that I would take them somewhere else and see what they told me.

He immediately got way bent out of shape and stormed off heading back to the rear of the the store where he hides but before he got there, he turned around and hollered at me, " Go ahead, I don't need them anyway." To which I replied, "Apparently you do or else you wouldn't be sitting in here in the back of the store all by yourself on a Saturday afternoon." Someone like that shouldn't be in business if they are going to fly off when someone stands up to his "rip-off" techniques.
