i dont know, but for the past 7 days there has been a 1-800-603-8334 number appearing on my cell. since this is my company cell i wait until they leave a msg and call them back. this person never leaves a msg so i searched for the number thinking it was some big company. i came across this and now im scared. is there anything you can do about it? i dont really want to answer the phone, i havent yet. i tried calling back and it was at first busy then when i got through it rang and rang. i do not understand how he got my number this is strictly a business cell phone. i dont even take it home with me.

#2Consumer Suggestion

Fri, June 27, 2003

We have all been annoyed by telemarketers. I just got a call today, and was told I won a sweepstakes contest. Then the person proceeded to ask me questions about what credit cards I had, the names. I just cut him off and hung up. In your situation, this person is creepy and just plain weird.

You're the second person from Indiana to file a report on this constant calling. I am an Indiana resident. Phone soliciting of this nature is illegal, in our State. This number seems to turn up consistently enough, that you might consider blocking it.

For peace of mind, I would have to recommend that you file a Police Report with your local police department, because this is weird. This man is making calls nationwide, but his tactics are spooky, and I'll be glad when he passes through our neck of the woods.

I've been trying to track that d**n number, because it's linked to another report here and a merchant credit card scam (alleged-have to mention that).

I don't recommend calling this number back. I think you might consider having a new cell phone number reissued, and like I said, talk with the police. This is similiar to stalking.

You might want to share this information with your company as well, and they can block the number through all of their communication lines. I'm still going to try and track that number, but this guy gives me the creeps.

Hope this helps. :)
