Both his name and phone numbers are fake. He met with me, was real nice, bought me dinner to talk about the apartment; he's frail and thinks himself some kind of professional neuro-psychopharmacologist. Within a week or so, there was no furniture in the room and no housekeeper. He took my money (insisted on cash and would not sign anything), and then called off the whole deal. Would not return my emails, calls, or letters.
I filed a police report for fraud. I realize I gave him the money, but so did Bernie Madoff's victims. There is an penal code that this violates.

His reneging on the deal cost me an extra month's rent where I was staying, ​Extra rent for the person moving into where I was leaving, and so much additional stress on top of what was an already terribly difficult living situation.
