We were offered a 20 - 25% discount on servicing a vehicle by my wifes close friends husband, the finance manager employee.  My wife called and booked a service appointment and confirmed ahead of time about this discount and they acknowledged.  When they called us giving us the prices for the service work, again they acknowledged the discount.  The prices seemed high but with the discount we figured it would then be reasonable, but on one of the items which were the struts, we (my wife and I) were told it included labor.  When my wife picked up her car and paid for the work she showed me the receipt which reflected a $50. discount on over $1400. of work.  I (her husband) went through examining the receipt  and found the struts did not include labor and that when googled the parts pricing, I found this dealership to sell the same parts on the Internet for at least one third less.  I stopped by in person and wanted to resolve this mess.  I first talked to a Rick their service manager who was part of our communications and he basically referred me to Mr. Joe DeRobertis who was out but would return the next day and call us.  Mr DeRobertis never called but I called him who seemed not to know who I was and my cell reception was poor so I came in personally to straighten this mess out.  I told Joe of the discount promised to us and not received and also of his same parts being sold by another department for at least 1/3 less.  Joe went explain that they gave a $50. discount, and since we already paid for the parts their would be a restocking fee.  He also told me how my wife did not like our local Honda dealership and  this is why we brought it to their dealership instead.  I told him that was not why we brought our car to his dealership and to my knowledge my wife never said that.  I said, lets get her on the phone now together and straighten this out.  He said he does not need to, and I asked again to confront both of us and he said no, again I asked saying that we need to straighten this out and he continued that he knows what she said and does not want to talk to her.  He further said,  that his dealership charges less labor per hour than our local Honda dealer for service (as if to make me happy) and that if he sold the Internet parts, he would need to charge also for the sales tax. And I said if the item (struts) sells for $170. and you sell it for $100. on the Internet, the tax would be only $10. still a huge savings (we paid tax anyways and at the higher rate).   He then said, he would be glad to refund our money for the parts we ordered minus his restocking charges.  I asked for who his superior was since I wanted to speak to him or send a letter and said he has none since his owner does no longer participates in the business and to send the letter to his dealership address.  I left.
