I leased a 2001 Honda Civic from Rock Honda back on December 31, 2000. It just so happened to be a Sunday. After running my credit report they made me a deal that i could not refuse. I accepted, traded in my old car, and put $1,500.00 down on my new car. well, later that week they call me and tell me that they cannot finance me i do not have enough credit. Should they not have known that on Sunday after looking at my credit report? and if they didnt should they not have waited until monday to make sure i could be financed? well they told me that they could still do it but my monthly car payments would be more. i had already signed a contract stating what i was to pay. i contacted my lawyer and he told me they had to take the car back and could not penilize me because they were at fault. and yes they would have to take a used car back at their expense.

well my parents were kind enough to say they would co-sign for me so that i could keep the car. but it didnt stop there. we went in and re-signed the contracts with all the same figures. then they called us a week later and said we need to come back and sign new contracts because they wrote them wrong. so we went down there AGAIN to resign. THEN a week later they called us YET AGAIN to tell us they put the wrong state licensing fees on there because techically i bought my car in 2000 not 2001. so for the fourth time we had to go down and sign contracts. out of all of their mistakes, we were able to get a free cd changer, alarm, floor mats, and oil changes. we thought we were ok.

the oil changes proved us wrong. EVERY single time i take my car to rock honda's service department they lose my keys. it takes them longer to find my keys then it does to do an oil change. a few times they misplaced my car!

today 11-23-02 i took my car in at about 9am for a routine oil change...they are free right so why not? dave was my service representative. well at 10:30am i went back to pick my car up. and guess what, cant find my keys...oh surprise...the shock of it all. well we sat around for about 45 min to an hour waiting for him to find them. mind you i have my house key and my alarm on the key ring. he could not find them so they decided just to cut me another key. he said he thinks someone might have dropped them in another car. ok so now someone else might be driving around with a key to my car and my house. to them this is no big deal. i told him if they cannot find my keys then they need to pay me $150.00 to re-key my house and they need to give me a new alarm. i could car less if the person with my keys has no clue what my car looks like or where i live. i refuse to take that chance.

well after that they hurried to find them and guess what...they found them ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WALL IN THE DIRT. the guy washing my car had set them up on the brick wall and they had fallen over the other side into a dirt lot.

i highly recommend that anyone with a honda NEVER take their car to Rock HOnda. not even if it is free.

oh and on top of it all...they cant even put tires back on correctly...they hid my valve stems...so now i have to go have that fixed.

Thank you for that bit of information. much appreciated!

My mother is very intellegent when it comes to this kind of stuff and she would not sign any contract unless all the numbers were the same and I was the buyer and she was just a co-signer. See the thing is with them they agreed to take my Saturn in as a trade. we walked out of there amazed at the deal we got from them. my brother, father, mother, lawyer, and i think that the reason they refused the first contract is because the realized they got screwed over taking my car and only $1,500 down and low payments. yes it is a lease so payments are generally cheaper then buying right? at the end of my lease will i be able to go to another Honda dealer to resign?

Hey Rebecca take a second look at your car buying contract right away.

Rebecca some car dealers like to do what has happend to you so they can keep you from buying from another dealer down the road.

If I were you I would get out your car buying contract and see if they put you as the buyer and your parents as the co-signers.

Some car dealers will have their F&I guy/gals to make you "THINK" that that is the way it has been set up.

But what they do is to have your mom or dad sign the contract FIRST as the buyer's and you as the second person on the contract Which would make you the co-signer.

If a car dealer thinks for one second that a bank will not do a deal, trust me the F&I people will put something in place to get the deal to fly real fast.

Banks do not care if car dealers do this.
