Complaint Review: Rock Tops Granite

Rock Tops Granite I paid $4,415.50 for granite countertops that were never installed. They closed their business 12/19/08. I need all of my money returned Macomb Michigan

I placed a granite countertop order with Rock Tops Granite 12/6/08 and increased the order to include more pieces on 12/7/08, paid 50% deposited as required...paid with check. They did come out and took the measurements and collected the remaining 50%, again paid with check. I was contacted by John Baird...brought in from Michigan plant to open this new showroom location. He called me 12/16/08 stating that another edge finish had to be selected on one piece that was ordered. He obtained sink dimensions on a special order sink that I bought for this job. I was told that he would call later in the week with an installation date, never received the call.
I began calling them daily 12/26/08 to ask for the delivery date. Only the answering machine came one, a voicemail boxes were full. I called the Lenexa, KS, two MO locations, the IN store and two in MI, all with the same results. Looked on the web and found out that they closed the business on 12/19/08.
We drove to the Lenexa, KS location 12/29/08 and a handwritten sign on the door states "Closed for the day"...sign is still there 12/30/08.
I filed a police report, a report with the KS attorney general, Johnson County DA consumer fraud report and have notified the local TV news media about my situation.
I am out $4,415.50 and I want my money back.
