I applied to a "generic" online application, to see if I could qualify for a $5,000.00 loan with bad credit. This application was extremely general, so I felt pretty safe filling it out. It was suppose to be sent to many lenders.

I then received a phone call back from a "Michael Larson" explaining to me that he was a loan agent and he could help.

I called him back at 1-800-963-9165 Ext. 425.
The business had a reception line and other ext.

After talking, he said he could get me a $6,000.00 loan at an 8.5% interest rate. However, due to my bad credit---to "insure" the loan I would have to send the first 5 mos. payment upfront--totalling $945.00.

He then faxed me paperwork. Outlining the details of the loan agreement. Everything looked official.

The last page (5) was the Terms and conditons, along with the "signed" agreement and my bank account info. for direct deposit.

After receiving the returned fax Michael had me send a 'moneygram" from Walmart to Canada--- the cost for international transfer was 1/3 the cost of within the states, and to "save" money go through Canada, because they work with an office up there too. I was suppose to receive my "guaranteed" loan within 24 hrs. NO such luck!!!

The next day I received a call from a "Frank Borteno" stating, "Due to our bankruptcy 10yrs ago they were going to need more money down/upfront to insure the loan." I called them on the "scam" and of course, to no avail, requested my $945.00.

So, I'm out $945.00 with no loan going through!!!

I have since found other people with similar experiences---with the Rockcliffe Financial Group---but different gentlemen's names are used. So be weary of anyone/name associated with this company.
