Rocket-Surgery.net Rocket Surgery Moscow Idaho Web Design Unethical Holding of Domain Names Moscow Idaho
http://www.rocket-surgery.net/
I am submitting this report on behalf of my new clients and I think that all possible consumers should be aware of this company, their practices and the way that many other design services do this exact type of unethical practice.
Most people or companies seeking web design services are completely unaware that when they hire a web design company that many times the design company will register the business domain name under THEIR ownership and not the ownership of the company or person paying for the services.
So what happens is that when the company isn't happy with the design, the web hosting or the customer service in general they would naturally take their business elsewhere. Here comes the problem. This is when the company or person realizes that they do not own the domain name that they paid for and in fact the design company owns the domain name instead.
So what generally happens is that the design company will not answer their phone, return emails or anything else concerning the ownership of said domain in question. They will usually give you the run around and everything they can do to hold on to that domain name.
Why would they hold on to a business name if it isn't their business, they can't profit from it or it has nothing to do with THEIR business? Because they can hold the domain name for ransom. That's right, the business that already paid for the domain name once will now be told they must pay again and usually at a much much higher price than what the domain name is even worth.
Now so far Rocket-Surgery.net has NOT made such a demand but Jeremy Scott one of their programmer/analysts is engaging in the run around. It takes all of 5 minutes to transfer a domain name and it has been days since the request was made and he's just not doing it for whatever reason.
After looking up the domain registrar information I have discovered that he has registered it with a phone number and address that is not accurate.
After visiting their website and reading the bios of the designers, it is obvious they are misleading. For example:
Jeremy Scott's Bio claims "Jeremy is a seasoned developer with more than 20 years of experience in many different environments." Really? What exactly does "different enviornments" really even mean? Additionally it says 20 years...20 years? Looking at his photo I can't help but wonder what elixir of youth this guy has stumbled on to or if he was just some child prodigy genius who has been doing these things since childhood?
I will personally come back here with an update and apology should Jeremy Scott at www.Rocket-Surgery.net do the right and ethical thing by transferring the ownership of the domain name to my clients.
The lesson to be learned here is that when you hire a web design company be sure that you have already purchased the domain name yourself and that you are the rightful owner. NEVER take a company at their word that they will register the domain name for you. Lastly, after your web design is complete make sure that you have a copy of the site files saved to your personal pc should you ever decide to take your business elsewhere.

Jeremy Scott Is Highly Recommended

I have since talked with Jeremy Scott personally for several hours. He does in fact have programming skills and over 20 years of experience. I was wrong in jumping to conclusions.
There were extenenuating circumstances surrounding my initial knee jerk reactions as to why there were delays in communication in trying to get the domain name issue resolved. One of those being that the company that Jeremy Scott was working for had ALREADY gone out of business and he was working for a new company among other things.
As someone that is knowledgable in this field I can vouch as the original complaintant that Jeremy Scott is in in fact not only a competent and talented programmer but is in fact a very ethical person indeed and shares many of the same views concerning unscrupulous companies in this profession.
Jeremy Scott and RocketSurgery (even though they are out of business) do NOT engage in many of the things I originally described in my report. This is purely a textbook example of miscommunication and a series of unfortunate events that led to my original conclusion.
RipOffReport.com should be complained on themselves as I sent them a request to remove my complaint and my request was turned down. How a company that can provide such a legit and needed service to protect consumers can refuse to delete a complaint from an ORIGINAL complaintant is beyond me and is quite unethical in its own right.
Their reasoning is that they don't believe a corporation should bully an individual and threaten them for complaint removals. That is just fine and dandy, but when you are dealing with small businesses and very very small companies and personal individuals then consideration should certainly be given.
In conclusion, Jeremy Scott is a very trustworthy, honorable, ethical and talented individual and deserves my apology. I would highly recommend him as a programmer/coder for any project that requires skill and competence to complete the job correctly. I myself will hire Jeremy Scott on a freelance basis for projects from time to time as I have personally seen his work.
Shame on RipOffReport.com for not removing a complaint from the original person against a small business and personal individual.

After an ugly email that I sent either prematurely or not, the domain name has been transferred to my clients. I have also learned that this company is now out of business...so I'm told. (Lets hope so)
