Rockwell Amusements Mentally Abusive Behavior Towards an Autistic Boy North Scituate, Rhode Island
To whom it may concern,
My wife, children, sister-in-law and
niece visited your carnival in Taunton, MA on Sunday, April 25, 2010 in
expectation of a good time. My son noticed the Handy Manny stuffed
figure in the "pop a balloon" game. Noticing my son's liking for the
stuffed figure the carnival worker said he would give it to my child for
$5.00 post game. In which the carnival worked said my son would have
unlimited attempts to pop the balloon. I informed the individual my son
is autistic and cannot play the game and said we would gladly give him
$5.00 for the stuffed figure and another carnival worked did for the
inflatable Sponge Bob Squarepants. The carnival worker then proceeded
to give my wife the darts and said just pop a couple balloons. After we
"played" the game I proceeded to give the guy $5.00 at which time he
gave us a tiny blue dolphin and said the Handy Manny would be $30.00
knowing this would have an affect on my son (which it did). I angrily
walked away and to this day, I tell everyone about this story. I will
never attend another Rockwell Amusement Carnival for the remainder of my
life and you can expect the organizations for special needs children to
follow suit.
