Rocky Mountain German Shepherd Dogs von dem Felsengebirge Kennel Tragic, terrible experience with Rocky Mountain German Shepherds Conifer, Colorado
My experience with Rocky Mountain German Shepherds was not just terrible, it was tragic. In August, 2010 I purchased a Pink Paper German Shepherd puppy from Jayne Gervase-Edwards, who runs the business. About nine months later my dog, named Rothko, was dead of congenital heart disease. I spent thousands of dollars with vet specialists trying to give Rothko the longest and best life possible, but the disease with which he was born was too severe.
After Rothkos death Ms. Gervase-Edwards was contacted with a request for a refund, but she was non-responsive. On being pressed to respond, Ms. Gervase-Edwards insisted that Rothko was healthy when I bought him and that his disease could have been caused by unspecified environmental factors. Her response is in direct contradiction to established veterinary science and the vet cardiologists diagnosis of congenital disease. Citing the letter of the contract, Ms. Gervase-Edwards refused a refund, insisting that she breeds very healthy dogs and is a reputable breeder. Eventually she did offered a replacement puppy, but this did not mean I would have the same free choice from all puppies that a new buyer would have. Instead I would have only the choice of certain pups that she would decide to make available to me.
Over the years I have worked with four different professional breeders, and my experience with Rocky Mountain German Shepherds was by far the worst. Based on my experience I would not recommend that anyone purchase a dog from Rocky Mountain German Shepherds.

I googled RMGSD's to check in with the newest pictures. My beautiful girl came from RMGSD's last year and we could not have had a better experience with either the breeder or the dog. We found Jayne and her crew to be consciencious, responsible, caring breeders. The facility is beautiful and you can just tell that they are in this "for the love of the breed".
We've had many purebred dogs but this was our first German Shepherd dog. They are definitely a breed apart and I will admit that we needed to adjust that she learned very differently than any dog we've had before. We have the most intelligent, loyal, healthy girl and we could not be more grateful to Jayne for all of the hard work and breeding that went into this gorgeous girl.
Bad experiences happen and I wasn't there. I can only reiterate that I have never come across a more dedicated breeder.

I have purchased five German Shepherds from Jayne over the years. After thorough research of German Shepherd Breeders all over the United States, I found that Jaynes services, quality of dogs and pricing were superior. I have never had any problems with communication with Jayne. She is a wealth of knowledge and answers my questions about the dogs linage, her breeding practices, the dogs constitution and any challenges that I may have in raising or training my dogs.
I highly recommend her services to anybody who wants to add a quality German Shepherd to their family. Her dogs are excellent working dogs as well as great companions, protective but great with kids and house guests.

I have purchased 4 dogs from the owner and this company and I continue to go back due to the wonderful family that breeds and trains the dogs. Jayne has been a pleasure to work with and we love to keep her up to day on how the dogs are doing (and she responds and cares back.) All our dogs are healthy and infact health is promised in the paperwork that we recieved so I have a hard time beliving this story. When we first got our furst puppy from her we called her atleast twice a week with puppy and training questions and she always responded and was more than happy to help us, once more making me wonder about your story. I love the owner, her family and the dogs the she breeds! They are wonderful, playful, friendly, loving and extreamly healthy animals and the owner ensures that and she stresses that to us each time we buy a dog from her. We are repeat clients due to the wonderful dogs she breeds and her wonderful and caring nature as the breeder.

The complaint from Norma Moore is completely out of line due to the facts of the matter.
A very healthy IMPORTED puppy was purchased by Ms. Moore and it was not until 9 months later that her vet said there was a heart defect. The dog was then put on numerous heart drugs and quickly died.
This was not a puppy we had bred, but still had very strong healthy bloodlines. We were not contacted for a second opinion from our vet nor did we recieve any medical information until after the dog had passed.
There is a contract in place signed and agreed to by Ms. Moore that clearly states we offer no financial refunds but instead a replacement puppy when covered by the terms of the contract. This is a contract we have had in place for over 17 years of being a licensed TOP quality kennel facility.
We are not God and cannot control the health of every dog but we do our damndest!
The puppy offered to her was of great quality and character, she refused him and has decided to assume that we would only offer her something substandard which was in no way true.
So now unfortunately she has decided to start a slander campaign against us.
We are sorry for her loss and can only wish her the best in finding her new companion.
