Rodeo Ford Of Plano Manager and Sales Rep SMOKE CRACK Plano Texas
Our saga started 3 weeks ago with trying to buy a F-250. We have perfect credit ( I know this since we just got approved at 0% from another dealership) and were looking to trade in a vehicle for the F-250. After over 6 hours at Rodeo Plano, they came back and told us that we sucked and they could not do the deal.
What we figured out happened is that both the sales rep and the manager had HUB ( head up butt) and had calculated the numbers without including the trade therefore making the numbers not work.
Instead of just saying they made a mistake - they blamed us for it and made us feel like CRAP.
Then a week later we get a call from Rodeo Ford New manager asking why we didnt buy the car and after 1 week of back and forth calls, they tell us our credit is fine and they in fact can do the deal and the old manager was fired.
So, we get all excited as they call again on SAturday and say COME ONE DOWN and get into your car. Because there is no trust in this dealership, we ask for them to fax over the deal BEFORE we come down so that we do not waste our time and get jerked around and GUESS WHAT -- we get a call 10 minutes later stating that they IN FACT CANT get to the numbers that they just said they could get TO.
SO, I ask you -- does Rodeo Ford give their employees CRACK every morning or are they just STUPID? I cant come up with any other reasons we have been put through this most ridiculous experience. But no worries as I am sure with these business practices they will be out of business soon - I hope so anyway.

I have read the reports filed against Rodeo Ford in Plano, TX....and it seems "In All Fairness" must work for the dealership directly, since he has taken the interest to "Rebutt" the reports.
Having just had a miserable, and I walked, experience there....AND finding out that their BBB Accredidation was revoked in April of this year, no explanation from "In All Fairness" is worth listening to. Especially since if this gentleman was who he says he is, his english, grammar, and spelling would be much better.
Quit trying to convince us all that these people reporting are just complaint happy people, and solve the numerous customer service issues at your stores. Starting with Art, Alonzo and a few others.

"In All Fairness" may be incorrectly assuming that OP is upside down in his trade-in vehicle.

Only OP can tell us.
In any event, some car dealerships' salespeople engage in these weird tactics not because they smoke crack, but because-
-are you ready?
these tactics yield more profit to the dealership!
People come here and complain about these tactics, often AFTER they have bought. But they DID buy!
OP got yanked around once, and then considered GOING BACK after they sweet-talked him. The "Fax the deal's paperwork to me" ploy was a brilliant move by OP.

I am a former Finance Manager for Ford Credit and currently employ over 59 oupeoplein an auto finance institution where buying paper like yours happens a million times a day at very minimum.
I truly don't believe that you were done any harm by the dealership telling you that they couldnt do the deal because what probably happened is that you were too far upside down on your trade to begin with which would make the dealership lose money. Let's face it...we're all in it to make money not lose it.
In order for you to have gotten the deal you wanted you would have had to come up with the difference that you owed on your trade-in to cover the defecit. To explain in layman's terms: your trade in was worth less that what you owed on it so you were trying to roll over negetive equity onto a new deal without putting any money down. In the finance world, this is a no no for any finance manager because they are trained to accept deals that work and that will not cost the company any money.
Your only option was to purchase a new vehicle where you would pay an inflated amount for your new car because they would roll that negative equity in on top of the cost of the vehicle. Making it over priced and in a few years...depending on how many miles you put on the vehicle and how much wear and tear it has..you will have depreciated the new vehicle making it not worth what you want for it if you trade it in, causing you to be in the same situation that you were in with the old trade. I think it is unfair for us as consumers to place this kind of blame on others and make accusations such as those that you've made towards the individuals that work at Rodeo Ford...they know what type of deals to present to the lenders and which ones won't without having the difference backed by cash.
So...for you to expect to do this sort of deal without having to come out of pocket anything makes me believe that the one "smoking crack" in this particular case is the same person who thought they could stroll into a dealership and make demands on the finance department that aren't financially sound. Think about it....
