This all started on 4-7-14. I replied to ad for yorkie for sale. Rogan James told me that I would have to pay $300 for shipment of puppy.

He sent me pictures and I had to write a story to see if I would make a good choice for his puppy. I was told to go to Home Depot and buy Reloadit card for same day delivery. I asked Rogan James if that $300 was going to be everything because if there were more charges, I would have to opt out. He assured me that would be all.

He emailed 4-8-14 saying he had just taken puppy to air gate for delivery to me. I was told that papers had already been put in my name and "Kelly" was on her way to me.

Then I get an email from Air Gate saying they need $300. refundable deposit for kennel to transport in. After staying on phone with Air Gate until 12:15 am wednesdday morning arguing with them that I did not have $300 to send nor did I think it was my responsibility to pay for transport since that was not in the agreement

Thursday, Director of Air Gate called and said they were going to split the $300 with me , so I reluctantly sent the $150. They had already told me that since dog was now in my name that I was responsible and if I did not pay, they would sue me because dog was leaglly mine.

Friday morning Director calls and said if I send $150 more that I would receive $500. refund when puppy arrives for all the stress that i had been through. My dumb self went for it and got the other $150 card. i called them in authorization # and they emailed that puppy was on its way. Would be here Ffriday @5:00 pm. at 3:30 PM they emailed and told me not to call that # again, that i had been scammed.

I have all text messages, emails and receipts, but it still does not help the hurt and financial loss that I trully could not afford. I just let my heart take over.

I hope there is something that we can do to prevent anyone else from going through this pain

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

On 16-April-2014, I did a search for French Bulldog puppies. On 17-April-2014,I came across this seller's ad, and I texted them at the phone number in the ad. The phone number in the ad had a 281 (Texas) area code, but it was not the 281-406-0355 number listed in your complaint. The seller named Chrissel texted called me back a couple of hours later to ask for my email address. I gave my email address, and a a few minutes later, I received pics of some French bulldog puppies.

I texted the seller back to thank her for the pics and I asked her to call me so that we could talk. She responded ny saying that she was still at work, so we would have tocommunicat via text. Around 10 minutes later, I received a call from number with an 802 area code. This is a Vermont area code. The gentleman calling me had a very strong accent. I could barely understand him. Due to the language barrier, he hung up and then immediately texted me to say that he is the husband of the woman I have been texting with. He sent me an email using the Name Steve Utis, asking about my home and environment. I replied to his email and answered his questions.

To make a long story short, I began to get suspicious. Why is the wife's phone number a Texas number, but the husband's is a Vermont number? How are you able to sell the puppy for $500, including shipping? Last night I continued to search "French bulldog scams" on Google. and I began to feel more and more that this seller is shady.

This morning the seller texted me to say that she was on her way to register the dog in my name.I asked her to send me pics of the parents. Around 30 minutes later, I received a pic via text from a totally different number stating that the dog in the pic is the father.

The seller then texted me from her number to say that I would need to purchase a reloadit card. Why do I need to purchase this card? Why can't I use my Visa? I've never even heard of a reloadit card. That was my confirmation that this seller was shady.

I then received a call from a man at Airgate Shipping fromthe phone number 281-406-0355. He too had avery strong accent, and I could not understand him. He hung up and then texted me telling me to check my email for instructions on how to pay. I immediatle Google'd the phone number, and this complaint showed up inthe search results.

The seller texted me while I was reading your complaint. She wanted to know if I had made the payment. I responded to her saying thatI was having concerns because something did not seen right, and that I was hearing bad thins about Airgate. She insisted that that Airgate is the best and that everyone uses them to shiptheir pets.

I am done with this seller. Thank you again for sharing your experience. I hope others can be saved from being scammed by this person/people.
