Roll-Offs Direct Rinky dink company won't return my money after I cancelled order ripoff Baltimore Maryland
I placed an order for a dumpster from Roll-offsdirect.com on Friday, 7/27 for delivery on Monday 7/30. Kellie called that afternoon and stated that I needed to sign and FAX the form they sent to me as an attachment to the email confirmation of order. She said I'd also need a permit from the city since I wanted the dumpster placed on the street. I told her that it was a private street, but she said they needed the permit (or waiver) to deliver the dumpster. I was busy packing up a household for moving. I did not have a FAX machine at home. It was late Friday afternoon and I did not think I could get to the city offices before they closed.
After getting off the phone with her, I called my local trash company and made arrangements for a dumpster to be delivered. No need for permit and no signature required. And $200 less!! I immediately called Roll-offsdirect.com to cancel my order. The call was answered by an auto-attendant ("all our operators are busy... your call is very important to us...").
I left a message to cancel the order as I had made other arrangements. I also sent an email cancelling the order.
On Sunday I received an email asking for the "required" signature. I ignored it.
This was the first time I received the document that they wanted signed and faxed back.
Monday morning I get a call from a man inquiring about the signature. I told him the order was cancelled on Friday. He said they were closed over the weekend and had no way to know. I told him that I thought as an internet company they should have a way of monitoring these things over the weekend. The discussion became heated. He told me there would be a $150. cancellation/restocking charge. I protested, but ultimately agreed to pay $50.
Fast forward 2 weeks. I discover that there has been no credit to my mastercard account. I talked to Kellie who said she'd take care of it. Not taken care of. The next week I talked to a woman who said she'd check into it and call me right back. She did not. Now I can't seem to get hold of a real person (again, all their operators are busy, my call is very important to them, they'll return my call shortly...) I've left multiple messages.
I've spent 2 weeks trying to get my $604.55 back. At this stage of the game, I don't think I should even have to pay the $50.
Don't rent your dumpsters from Roll-offsdirect.com. They won't return your money.
I've learned my lesson - I will carefully check out these companies before ordering on line. I should have done my due diligence.

This company has failed to respond to BBB inquiries. Do not do business with this company. You can probably rent a dumpster for less money from your local trash company. This company does not answer its phone or respond to email. They stole my money. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
