Complaint Review: Roma Investments

Roma Investments aka Tom Romanini has been a nightmare of a landlord.  I moved into his Clarence Building 2 years ago and that is long enough to put up with this slumlord.   He was going to "renovate" the apartment because the previous tenant had lived in it 28 years and no work had been done on it.  The carpeting Mr. Romanini chose is more for a Put-Put Golf type than an apartment.  His painting was so substandard, my boyfriend and I repainted much of the apartment.  I should have known then that things were going to be bad.  Within the first 3 months the bedrooms walls, ceiling and windows were leaking.  Not just leaking, dripping.  He painted over the plastered walls several times before they were dry only to have the wall crumble which started the process over again.  He's been "fixing" the bedroom walls for 2 years.

Dealing with Mr. Romanini is a dreadful experience.  He is completely unprofessional!  He yells and screams, uses profanity and stomps his feet like a little kid.  He can't stand not getting his way.  He has tried to raise my rent each year.  I have refused to sign a new agreement.  He likes to fight.  I have refused to speak to him at this point and only communicate via letters.

I am moving out this year.  I am sure we will be in court over my security deposit.  Beware.
