Romanowski Custom Homes RCH, Romanowski Development, Romanowski Homes Poor quality construction, poor customer service after sale Dallas, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
I live at
Pennbrook Lane
I had Murray J Miller Architecture review my original home plans and compile a list of errors and deletions. They found a laundry list of items such as 5 feet of kitchen cabinet/counter space missing, dining room window missing, open rail staircase replaced with a wall, kitchen pantry too small, bathrooms laid out incorrectly, undersized shower installed, wrong closet doors, garage door in wrong location, undercut basement stairs.
I have wet basement walls, for which the front corner of the home must be excavated to correct; defective carpeting that continuously sheds; inch gaps in the basement floor joints; visible and uneven drywall seams; large gaps between the floor and base molding; I had to repaint most of the interior because there was only 1 coat completed. I have a chandelier in a 2 story foyer that is falling apart. Over a year after removing an incorrectly placed sink in one of my bathrooms, Romanowski still hasnt replaced it.
As a first-time home builder, I feel I was completely taken advantage of. I paid considerably more money that I would have with a large construction company and received the same spec-home type product. My home was constructed in 86 days and I closed on it before I had a final walk-through (On a good faith assurance by Mark Romanowski). What I thought was going to be a special home for my family turned into a house mostly filled with items that would come up on homedepot.com if you sorted by price: lowest first. The ground level of the home is 5& feet lower than the road surface, which is a mere 50 feet from the garage door. The driveway is a ski slope.
The garage is only 4 inches longer than my truck so I need a second person to guide me right to the wall in order to close the door. The laundry room is so small that front loaders wont fit in side by side. I thought I was getting Andersen Windows and I got Home Depot American Craftsman Windows. I have one power outlet in the garage. I have a 31 inch shower in the master bath in which I barley fit. This is not what I expected from a custom home builder. My new home has turned into a fixer upper. I have spent thousands of dollars finishing, refinishing, remodeling and renovating my home.
