My elderly parents had a referal from Home Depot rep to call Rons Carpet Care to have him lay their new linoleum. My parents called Ron and he said that he would send "his best man" to do the job. Told them his best man would call them to set up a time. His best man , "Jaime" came and did a terrible job. He cut it wrong and layed several pieces down. Told my parents that the glue would hold the pieces together. WRONG!

The linoleum is coming apart in serveral areas. Called Rons Carpet Care and he told us too bad it is "Jaime"'s responsibility and that "Jaime" is not his employee and that he reffered my parents to "Jaime".

This was not my parents understanding, they thought they were hiring Rons Carpet Care. Turns out "Jaimie" is an illegal mexican and will not return our calls. BOTTOM LINE: Dont call RONS CARPET CARE!

Almost forgot to mention that my parents are out $500. They are retired and on Social Security. $500 is quite a bit for them. Would like to hear from any Elderly groups for help on get bad press for Rons Carpet Care and his "best man" Jaime!

You are correct, you are not allowed to sell and install goods over the amount of 750.00 unless you are a contractor licensed by the R.O.C. However you can sell anything unlicensed to any body. I never sold you anything, the contractor you hired, you hired!! or your mother did!! I only tried to help. Yes you have hurt my business, I'm sure you will be happy about that, I have lost probably over 100,000.00. but it is the princible, I owe you nothing!! all I did was to try to help your mother when she called!! I told her I was not interested in the job and all I could do was give her number to installers that I knew. Why did she not have home depot do it??? Anyway This has gone on long enough, I have talked to my Attorneys, and I have no choice but to Sue You/YOur Mother for slander & defimation of my business!!!. This web site is a joke anybody can file a complaint on anybody and hurt them. As I am a small business I would much rather have given you your 500.00 that you wanted rather to be subject to losing 1000,s because of your experiance. But I will not under any circumstance let you or anyone extort money from me...............

R. McIntyre

Anyone who would like to talk to me about this can call me at (480)983-7009

I almost forgot to mention, Jaime is a legal resident of the USA he maid a mistake by doing your job as he dos'nt do vinyl either, your mother wanted someone to do it cheap and that is what she got for what she paid. Jaime is a subcontractor who works for everybody in town.

no money was ever given to my parents for their ruined vinyl

#11Author of original report

Thu, July 22, 2004

I am very sorry about calling "Jamie" an illegal. This was said because of a comment that Ron had made to me over the phone. He had said that he could deduct money from "Jaimie" on each job he did until he paid back for the ruined vinyl then he said that "Jaimie" sends all his money to Mexico. I wrongly thought that meant he was illegal which MAY BE wrong and I should not have said it.

In any case, no money was ever given to my parents for their ruined vinyl. However, Ron did talk to me at least twice on the phone and once we went down to his place of business because he said he would "give us a deal" on replacement vinyl. The samples he had did not come close to the original so we passed. Plus he said he was sending "his best man" the first time so why should we try again? I do not know why Ron is outright lieing about not talking to me and not doing vinyl. His old website showed he did vinyl. If you read my earlier post you will see that I said that Ron refered to "Jaimie" as "his best man" and NOT as an independent in the BEGINNING.

ONLY later AFTER the bad job did Ron refer to "Jaimie" as an independent. Please read again. The BBB did put on his record he had responded to one complaint. Please also see other posts by other people regarding the practices of BBB on ripoffreport.com

The BBB operates on money for memberships by the very people they are going to report on later (sound bias to you?) A "good Faith effort" as defined by the BBB is simply a response not necessary a favorable response...just a response. The Registrar of Contractors did dismiss because it was under the $750 mark--they have bigger fish to fry. According to the rep at Registrar of Contractors they need a license to sell and install flooring if the total price of materials and install (the whole job) is above $750. At least this is what they told me. It is true we do not have any invoice (my parents paid in cash which is a BIG NO NO) The ONLY reson why Rons was called was because Home Depot rep said they did a great job for less. We did complain to Home Depot and the manager said that this was not the first complaint regarding that employee referring people to others and not Home Depot and that was against their policy.

Rons Carpet Care probably does a great job on cleaning carpets. However, if you need flooring PLEASE learn from us GET A LICENSED CONTRACTOR!!! ALSO If you had flooring sold and installed above the $750 mark PLEASE SUBMIT TO the Registrar of Contractors. Their website is www.rc.state.az.us

If this was a customer of mine I would have taken care of it immediately

#11REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tue, July 13, 2004

I did receive a call from this person, she told me that she bought vinyl from home depot but didn't want to pay them to install the vinyl for her because it was to expensive, I told her I wasn't interested in the job because I don't do it!! She asked me if I knew anyone that could do it for her and I told her I would call some installers for her and give them her number that is all end of story. If this was a customer of mine I would have taken care of it immediately, but she is not!!! Ron's carpet care did nothing wrong except try to help!!! If she is going to harrass me why dosn't she harrass home depot? all I did is what they did "refer" This was dismissed by the BBB as well as the Registor of Contractors. The person doing this to my Company is her Daughter, I never talked to her and her facts are wrong. If we did the job then she should proove it with a cancelled check or invoice!!! Slander isn't a way to get money out of this company for work not performed by this company!!! This Rip Off website or someone should have notified me in the begining so I could defend my service I found out about this complaint July 11, 2004, this has been on here since February of 2003, seems a bit UNFAIR!!!

Respond to this Report!
