Purchased a very expensive dinning room table and chairs. 6 months later, the finish is comming up on one leaf of the table.

Rooms To Go sent a representative to our home that told us the finish was comming up from customer abuse. More directly, the finish was comming up because we had most likely allowed the table to get wet on the 6 inch by 4 inch section that the finish was peeling from. We told him, that due to our nature of being sanitary people, we did often clean the table, and we did often use something wet to clean the table. He laughed, and said he understood, but that Rooms To Go would not replace the one leaf even though the other sections of the table and the other leaf were treated equally, and yet were not peeling.

We then asked him what the warranty would really cover since obviously anything can be attributed to customer abuse if the retailer says so. He replied that basically, they remove stains for anything that is scocth gaurded, but that he had never seen any other warranty work done. Ironic that stains are caused by customers?

Their warranty is meaningless. If what you buy doesn't break, then I'm sure you will be satisfied as many rebutals on this site point out. I assume however that when I pay a little more to get a warranty, that it will be enforceable.
