Purchased a sofa and chair set for Room-to-Go that used to be on Fowler Ave, in the University Mall area (they have since move out to the Wesley Chapel area). The company that Rooms-to-go uses for extended service warranties called me about four times to get me to purchase an extended warranty, telling me that the furniture would be completely coverd for two years beyound the maufacture's warranty. One the fourth time at about 0830 in the morning, with the cost of the of the extended warranty being less than 10% of the furniture value we purchased it.

We noticed that the sofa started sinking, and the springs started to ware really bad. We called Rooms-to-Go, which referred us to their extended warranty affilate (which is NOT Rooms-To-Go). They sent a technician out to my house, whom used the "little red riddinghood" approach when checking out my sofa. My wife stated that he literally sat in three places on the couch, looked at her and said this appears to be normal wear! My wife was furious!

About a week later, we received a bill from Rooms-To-Go for a $55.00 service call fee. Because the problem with the sofa was concidered "normal" wear, it was not concidered an manufacture defect, however the service technician never touched the sofa to move it at all.

I am a service member in the Army, and on the 27th of May, movers can to my me from a local moving company. When they moved the sofa out from the wall, I noticed that one of the base/bracer pieces of would was actually broken, but had not come through the material. I then called Rooms-to-Go for the third time myself. They told me that there was nothing that they could do, because they did not have a technician available on that day to come out and look at the sofa; it would have to be next week! I told her that I was moving "today!" She stated that there was nothing she could do, and then accused the movers of possible breaking the sofa! She had no idea what she was talking about, because whne you do a military move you are there watching the movers.

Bottom line: I will never purchse an other product from Rooms-To-Go, in any state and I for one suggest that you stay away form any Rooms -To- Go Extended Service Warranty. Also, even though customer service seems to be a forgotten art in the Tampa Bay area, the people that I spoke with representing rooms to go SUCKED!
