rooms to go picked up my wedge (piece of my livingroom set) for repairs. spring was popping through the back. guys picking up rushed in, picked up wedge, moved recliners and left them like that. went out the back door, through my back yard and through the gate. did not latch gate. it was standing wide open. after they left, i went to the front to find my glass door wide open and jammed. i worked on it for hours and so did our neighbors to get it to close. our home is for sale and it was to have a final showing with a couple that afternoon. i had to leave the door standing open since it would not close. upon calling rooms to go at the customer service number and at the local store, i was told "there was nothing they could do unless home depot would come and fix it for me, i would have to pay, and they would reimburse me. they would not call. told me i would have to make the call". i asked if they could send one of their people out to try to fix it before the real estate people came since i was just around the corner. i was told "no". ended up having to take the top piece off the door to get it to close. it would not close alone, had to be pushed closed. i was furious to say the least.

will not purchase another piece of furniture from this company if they are going to tear up my home in the process. they showed very little regard for taking care of my property.

corporate office handled my complaint

upon reporting my problem to the corporate office which handles complaints, i was promptly called back by a representative who wanted to know what had happened and how they could make it right. they offered to replace the door upon their inspection, or have it repaired for me. by the time they called, the door had been made workable. although the local store did not offer any solutions, the corporate office did. i am pleased with their follow-up and handling of the situation. my wedge was returned, repaired and in good condition. the men who delivered the piece were very considerate of my home and furniture. they took time to place the item and unwrap all protective covering. they moved my furniture back into place for me. in the end, i am pleased with their overall handling of the situation. I wanted to make sure this comment is included with my complaint in order for a fair overview.

thank you,

n. rice
