I am an active duty military soldier, who has servedmy country for past 12 1/2 years and still counting. I'm very disappointed in the way Rooms To Go in Morrow, Ga conducts business. I put down a $320 deposit on a bedroom set for my 10 yr old son in Dec 2010. I went back a couple of weeks later (Jan 2011)to retrieve my deposit and I was told by the Manager RenButterworththatI would only receive $280 of the $320 deposit due to company policy.The company policy located on the backof the receiptstates, "after 48hrs the customer will only receive 80% of the deposit". Receiving 80% of the deposit was not an issue;however,Mr. Butterworth the manager informed me he would only refund my deposit in the form of aRooms ToGo gift certificate instead of cash.

I am appalled by his decision since there is nothing mentioned on"Terms and conditions of Sales"that my refund wouldbe in the form of a certificate only.I did seek legal advice from a military attorney on Fort McPherson, GA.After having a heated disputewith Mr Butterworth,he told the attorney that I would not receive $280, I wouldreceive only $40.Mr. Butterworthstated that he was charging me a restocking fee of $280. Thefact is, I never had furniture delivered, the furniture was always maintained at their ware house; therefore, how can I be charged a restocking fee? A couple of days later I received $40 check in mail. Mr. Butterworth's actionswereunprofessional with the way he conducted business.He needs to work on giving GOOD customer service.Rooms To Gocorporate office was given an opportunity to resolve this matter but left it at the store level to be resolved!!! You would think they would do the right thing by their customers to ensure satifaction guaranteed!! I would not recommend this busniess to anyone. I will be pursuing this issue and I am willing to take it to thehighest level.
