Rose Cartage, They hirer you in as a driver and make you sit down and full out all this paper work in which is ok becasue that you do for all trucking companies. This one paper you fill you tells you that if you quit within one year of date of emploment you are to pay for the drug test and the time in the paper work that they do and also a few other things. They can't even put a price on anything they say on that paper work, So how do you know what you will be charged with. Plus they don't even give you a copy of itor any other paper work.

Well I quit for them within a month of working for them because of the way they treat you and the owner Daved puts you down in how he talks to you as a person and also when things break on the truck it was your fault, When they have old old trucks and trailers that will break down and they do. Also like any other company they lie to get you in the door as a new driver.

Craig is a manager for Rose Cartage and he is a talker and keeps going on about things to make things sound so good and really they are not. Well anyways when I quit I cleaned my things out of there truck and I am now being charged for missing items that they said I took - Air hose $20.00, Dead blow hammer $80.00 Saftey glasses $9.00 and a tow hook $100.00 Give me a break, What would I ever do with them items around my house ? I am sure they will also put a bad mark on my DAC report as well. They have you do a check list of many items that are to be in the truck when they give you the keys to it as all keys fit all trucks. They don't have all the items in the truck to start with and then you tell them about it and they only give you what you may need and that may even take a few days before you get that. I needed a dead blow hammer and I ask Dave in the shop because George the shop manager was not around and I was givin a rubber mallet from his tool box to use until they could give me a dead blow hammer. It took a few days and I was givin one. When I quit it come up missing within four days and the other item too that was never in my truck to start with.

They say they pay you 31% of what the load makes, But when you get your pay sheet as they call it you don't even see what the load makes to see if you are getting 31% of the load. So they are scaming you on that one. You know as well as I do when they don't put it on that pay sheet in what the load makes in pay you don't make what they say you do, Plus they can change it anyways and lie about what it really pays.

I have to say this about the company Rose Cartage -STAY AWAY FROM THEM ! Find some other company to work for that pays you by the hour or by mileage so you know you are getting paid for what you do. If they make you do a check list of items do not drive that truck or move it until you can get someone to sign of on all the items that may be missing. As for Rose Carage they would not sign off of the items that where missing. I will be lucky if I see anything out of my last pay check from them. They are setting it up so I don't get a penny in the end as well as I am sure a DAC report that they will put a mark on as well. STAY AWAY FROM ROSE CARAGE in Lansing, IL.

I am very sorry to hear that your time with Rose Cartage was not up to your expectations. We here at Rose Cartage hold our drivers in the highest regard and do the best we can to make their time with us a good experience. I am going to address the concerns listed in this complaint below:

* You state that there were things missing from the truck and that you were charged for them when you turned the truck in upon your decision to quit.

-Every new hire goes through the truck with a shop manager to verify what is in the truck and signs a truck item checklist, this list also states the                     prices  for things. It clearly states if lost or missing you will be charged for them. So you were charged as you signed the check list stating they were               there upon receipt of the truck and you were charged as they were missing upon turning the truck in.

* You stated that you feel that you were treated unfairly and that we lie just to get drivers in the door.

    - Again I am sorry that you feel you were mistreated we do our best to treat our drivers with the respect that they deserve and we never lie to get drivers          in the door. We are straightforward with our potential candidates and current drivers, they are always told exactly how things are and what to expect.

* You stated that you were never aware of what the load was actually paid to know what your 31% pay should be.

    - All of our drivers are given a driver settlement sheet with their checks every week that breaks down the load pay and driver pay. We in no way dilute or            manipulate these numbers.
