Complaint Review: Rose City Veterinary Hospital

I took my dog into Rose City Vet Hospital for a safe dog breeding using the Artificial insemination procedure with frozen semen. I had planned on letting her have 1 litter, and then fixing her.  She was a purebred AKC registered dog.

When I checked my dog in for the procedure, I was told, she would have to be checked before the AI could take place, because Rose City did not want to waste any of the frozen specimen.  The semen that was supposedly used on my dog was from a friend whose dog had died severall months before.  My dog was in great health before she was bred. 

I was called into the exam room, and was greeted by one of the employees of which I thought was a licensed Veterinarian, latter found out he was just an unlicensed technician.  I proceeded to ask him if the equipment needed to be sterile, he replied,"no, it does not."  This kinda concered me, because there were alot of dogs going back and forth into the exam rooms being bred.  The tech and I were the only ones in the room at the time of the procedure.  He asked me to assist with the breeding.  I was upset, because I had to sit on the floor to hold my dog in a certain position. I was not dressed or prepared for this type of situation.

As her pregnancy progressed, I statred noticing a dark brown discharge comming from her vaginal area. I took her in to be checked, and several lab test were done.  I had an ultrasound done, and was told her pups were dying inside of her.  I was told she had an bateria innfection.  Dr. Bleifer would not tell me exactly what type of infection my dog had.  I asked her why are the pups dying , she just kept saying "it can be the chicken or the egg."  She would never give me a direct answer.  She kept sending my husband and I on a serious merry-go-round trip.

I got off the trip, and went to another Veterinarian for a second opinion, and found out she was exsposed to an STD.  I went back to Rose City to confront Dr.Bleifer and she tells me that one of the lab reports came back indicating that my dog has Burkholderia.  I asked her what kind of disease this was, she told me to go home and look it up on the internet, and when I find out let her know what it is. 

I was blown away with this vet.  She never gave me all of my dogs test results, she falsified my dogs records by entering that the breeding took place with fresh semen, she falsely documented that the tech was a Veterinarian, practiced unlicensed Vet activity, and lastly, she will not compensate for her wrong doing.

If you love your pet, don't go to this hospital, it can be FATAL!!!!!
