Complaint Review: Rosen & Loeb Associates

I recently had my bank account garnished by this collection agency. I'm currently disabled and receiving temporary disability through workers comp. Workers comp temporary disability is exempt from judgment and therefore from levies. I called them to see if they would release the levy, since this income is exempt under CCP § 704.160. I had a vague recollection of trying to work with them about 8 years ago, when I was recuperating from a gunshot wound, after being an innocent bystander in a gang shooting while on a business trip. The L.A. County Sheriff's office advised me to call them, since it would be quicker and less trouble for me to talk to them, then my filing a claim of exemption, which I'm getting ready to do. That would have worked if the people that worked there weren't your typical rude obnoxious collection agents. I had the misfortune of talking to Rene, who claimed to be the supervisor there (I asked to talk to someone above her & that was her response). My question to her was what would make them happy so we could figure out a plan that I could handle. She was a complete jerk, putting words in my mouth (so you don't want to make a payment plan); talking over me; not letting me finish a sentence; and then hanging up on ME. And I was being polite. Wow. Then I remember that was the same thing that happened to me 8 years ago, when they started calling trying to collect on their judgement, while I crippled and recuperating from a gunshot wound. They were complete a-holes then, and Rene didn't disappoint today. Makes me think they must have a training program for collection agents where the first lesson is how to be a complete and utter a*****e. And why they behave this way is beyond me. It has prevented them from collecting a dime from me in 8 years. And I will get the bank levy released, because my income is exempt. I guess they have time and money to waste on a lost cause. I haven't been able to work regularly since being gunned down on the sidewalk in 2008.
