We are a TWO Land Rover owning family. Here are the facts:

1) At 67K (extended LR warranty), I dropped off one of our Freelanders for a transmission shifting problem.

2) Rosenthal Land Rover of Chantilly, VA informed us that a 60K service would be required before they could replacing our transmission under warranty through LR America and that if we purchased the 60K service and the transmission still experienced the shifting problem, the warrantay would still be valid.

3) Had we been informed that we had violated the warranty by not having the service done 7K miles before, we NEVER would have purchased the 60K warranty service in the first place. However since Land Rover of Chantilly, VA assured us (verbally) that purchasing this service would reinstate our LR extended warranty, we spent over $1,000 for this dealership to basically change the oil, transmission fluid and little else.

4) The transmission never recovered. We brought the Freelander back and they rejected our claim based on purchasing the 60K service seven miles late!

5) ROSENTHAL LAND ROVER OF CHANTILLY LIED TO US!!! WE SPENT OVER $1,000 ON A WORTHLESS WARRANTY SERVICE THAT THEY REQUIRED AND THEN THEY STILL REJECTED OUR CLAIM!!!

We are a two-Land Rover owning family and after this experience, we will NEVER purchase another SUV from a company that would ever allow such a dealorship to commit such blatent consumer atrocities! NO MORE LAND ROVERS FOR THIS FAMILY OR ITS FRIENDS!
