On July 15, 2016, I spoke with Roseville Hyundai sales manager Edwin Guadamuz regarding a used 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited advertised on their website for $12,000. Edwin verified the vehicle was in stock, and I drove 39 miles one way to view the car. After showing Mitch (our assigned sales person) on their showroom floor computers that the car was advertised for $12,000, I test drove the car. I provided my insurance policy number and printed proof of insurance from their computer. I asked my daughter to also drive the 39 miles to the dealership, as I was assisting her in buying a vehicle. She also was asked by our sales person to test drive the car. She filled out a credit application. By this time, I had been there two hours. It was finally at this point that Edwin and Mitch pulled me aside, told me the price was a mistake, and attempted to sell me a much cheaper Hyundai Sonata that was missing many of the features of the advertised car. This is a classic "bait and switch".

I understand and appreciate that mistakes can be made in advertising the vehicle, however they had ample opportunity BEFORE two hours had passed to verify the price. I feel they were negligent in not verifying the price far earlier in the sales process.

In consideration of their failure to inform me in a timely manner that they price they advertised was incorrect, I would like the dealership to sell the car to me at the advertised price. If the car has already been sold, I would like them to sell me a comparable car (same make/model, age, and features, with similar mileage and condition) at that price.
