It is alledged in Superior court of Massachusetts that Roto Rooter sends unlicensed Persons posing as Licensed plumbers to do work in Massachusetts. A Federal class action suit has alledged that this company forces its employees to carry the cost of running the buisness by making them purchase thier own trucks as well as the up keep. They continue to do this even though its against state and federal law.

The fact of the matter is your told you'll be reimbursed for your expenses. Nontaxable income is not a reimbursement. After all is said and done after expenses for the year a lot of techs dont even make minimum wage. That is why the company does your weekly expense reports for you..so they can manipulate them. If you make 1,000 a week and have 400 in expenses they say you made 600 and had 400 nontaxable...thats not reimbursement ... myself and a few guys from the shop figured out that we were getting 30 cents on the dollar back for our weekly expenses.  They dont inform  you of this situation until after you purchase your truck which puts you in a vulnerable position. In Massachusetts the Company is being sued for sending unlicensed Tech's to do work that requires a license or direct supervision of a licensed plumber. In Minnesota a class action suit was just settled for consumer fraud when unlicensed Tech's were doing plumbing and in C.T. a Manager and some of his empolyees were arrested for doing work without a plumbing license. The Case in Massachusetts is drawing attention because the Mass State Board of Plumbers actually does investigate these complaints. Roto Rooter in Massachusetts it is alleged actually barters with people who except lower wages in order to earn their apprentice time toward a license without actually having to do the training. My experience in Massachusetts at Roto Rooter wasn't completely negative but i watched as talented Plumbers went Bankrupt because the company would send unqualified and unlicensed persons to do the wok these licensed plumbers were hired to do.  I watched as salesmen were promoted over tradesmen. The Enrichment of the company was put first  above the Health of the commonwealth and the protection of the customer. Now if believing the license i and my brother Plumbers earned is something value and should not be made obsolete by Roto Rooter is Having a Hard On for this...then im stiff 24/7 buddy. I didnt even get into the NEW excavation litigation stuff that's coming up...where Roto Rooter sells Excavations of sewer lines to customers whose sewers are FINE! The companies business model seems to be based on Fraud, deceit and lies. Im sure you sleep well at night...seems like your the type of guy this company  looks for.

Sounds like the fixer has one for this company. These people are informed up front that they will be responsible for their own vehicle. If they don't want the job, then move on down the road. Most of these guys make good money and are glad to have a job.Sorry that you could not make it.It takes a lot of talent to do this work and some have it and some don't.I guess the fixer don't.
