On 7/23/2002 I went to RT.22 Nissan in Hillside, New Jersey. I explained to them that I was in desperate need of a car because my lease was up on the 7/26/02. I told the salesperson that I already shopped around and gave her all the quotes I had gotten. She made me a better offer. I told her I would get back to her the next day.

I called her the next day and she was not in so I spoke with someone else. I explained to him that I wanted to add a convenience package to the car. He looked up my paperwork and told me how much more this would run me. This included the price the previous salesperson had given me plus the convenience package and including all taxes. He also told me they had the car in stock. I told him I would be in the next day. The next day I called to let them know I was coming in and neither salesperson was in. On the 27th I went in to finalize paperwork but the car was not there so now they had to wait for one to come in. We went over the paperwork and I left a deposit.

On the 8/01/02 I received a call that my car had come in. I made arrangements to pick up the car the next day. I went in the next day. I was proofreading the contract when I noticed that the agreed price had been change. I brought this to the attention of the salesperson and she said "Yes, your right. I will go correct this". She returned with a sales manager who said to me that the reason for the change was because this deal had been made in July and it was now August. I said to him that this was not done sooner because they did not have the car. It was there fault not mine and I had left them a deposit.

I explained to him how I was inconvenienced without a car for over a week because I was waiting for them. I could have already had gotten my car through another dealership. It was now impossible to get the car because the exact car that I wanted was basically sold out and they stopped making them because the 2003 was coming out in September. Not to mention that I havn't got anymore time to waste trying to find this car. I have no car. He noticed I was very upset and went to talk to the general manager once again. At this time the salesperson was very upset herself and apologized for what they were doing to me.

She new it was wrong. She got on her cell phone and called her manager who was off but knew of the agreement because we had met the first night. He told her there was nothing he can do. The sales manager came back and said "Sorry there is nothing I can do". He said the general manager said he wasn't willing to take a loss. I just sat there in disbelief. How can they do this we had an agreement. I left a deposit. I need this car. In more words than one he said oh well and walked away. So I grabbed my checks and walked out.

It has been 3 days I still don't have a car and have called dealers but noone can get me this car. I want everyone to know what this car dealer is about! I'm very stressed out about the whole situation and I don't know what to do. I have no car to get to and from school or work. I can't even get around to go car shopping. The worst part is another dealer warned me about this dealer changing quotes at the time of signing. I figured they just wanted my business. I guess they were right!!

Don't anyone give these people business and always check your contract before signing it.
P.S. They were already reported to the Better Business Burea before my misfortunate situatuion.

I was in the market for a Nissan Versa. I was pretty much willing to pay 13, 200 and after BSing me for a few hours they have agreed to accept this offer. They did not have the car but promised to locate it. The sales man, Ronald, stated that the car would be just like the one in the showroom which had wood trim. My car arrived a week later without the wood trim. What does Ronald say? He says oops I guess this is something we only do with floor models. Not that I care about this wood trim but the car is not as promised. Sure, I'd be willing to forget about this if the fun would stop here. However, this was just the beginning.

I was given a 20-Day tag and told that they would have my Plates and registration within a week or two. So 19 days later I have no tags and I called them. They said not to worry they are working on it. So here I am cruising with expired tags. I call every day and a on day 21 Ronald's manager Ziat said that he had my tags. I travel 40 miles to the dealership and he tells me that they are locked in a storage closet and he does not have the key. I was asked to come back tomorrow which I did. At this point I was informed that the plates are with the NYS DMV. I called up DMV, and was told that they dealership never faxed them a copy of my insurance card. I conveyed this to Ronald who after giving me the dear in the headlights look finally asked me for a copy of my insurance card. At this point every day they kept telling me the plates are being sent over-night from Albany. This goes on for another week.

Meantime my car is in the garage and I am taking car service to work because I can't drive around with no plates. I've even made my first payment on the car and I still can't drive it. For a couple of days they would not take my calls, would hang up on me, or simply claim to be in meetings. After threatening to come down there they produced me with an invalid DHL tracking number. When I informed them of this, they told me

You signed the papers, and if you want to see your plates in the near future I'd stop calling. It's been a month and there are still no plates and the car is still parked in my arage. Today I was informed that I was on my and that they have spent enough time looking into the matter. I will not be dealing with Route 22 Nissan in the future even if their cars were being offered for free. Furthermore, there is a $200 document fee which I really feel does not correspond to the service that I received from them.

In 2002 we went to purchase a truck. We were there the whole day and basically gave us one quote and about every 15 minutes they were raising the quote. Finally we settled with a quote and when it was time to do the paperwork the General manager (Sopranos look -a -like) came in the Finance office slammed the door behind him and just went off. He asked us if we were stupid? and said " do you actaully think I will give you this price?" we were in shock and didn't know what to say. I'm warning everyone about these people. They're very scary to deal with and are nothing bu liars!!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE
