Route 66 Powersports Inc. Company ripped me off for over 30K!!!! Misleading, and improper sales techniques!!Only want a buck!! Ripoff Ionia Michigan
I purchased 2 motorcycles,2007 Kawasaki ZZR600 and a 2007 Suzuki GSX750R) a trailer,2 helmets, 2 jackets, and 2 sets of gloves,through this company on or about April 24th, 2007.
Kasey was the sales person here. Everything was done over the phone. Kasey advised me I needed a co signer, so my dad co-signed for me. we were approved. I was quoted over the phone by Kasey the salesman, and JP the Sales Manager, my price would be 8.9% APR and and my payments would be $129 per month per motorcycle.
They drove to where my dad was working in Kentucky with the motorcycles, for him to sign the paperwork. my father called and told me they had 15.9% interest rate on both of the bikes and a payment of 209$ per motorcycle. He declined to sign because of the rate, and the delivery driver called route 66 powersports, who agreed to change the Kawasaki to 7.9% and the suzuki to 11.9% , and they noted the change and initialed, so did my father. They delivered my motorcycles at 3:30 am the next morning at my residence in Maryland. They scratched the swingarm on the Kawasaki unloading it off of the trailer, I signed what I needed to sign, and they told me that we would receive the titles in about 1 week. one of the new helmets was cracked, and
I called the dealership the next day concerned about the change in prices and change in interest rate. JP the sales manager stated to me that I was accidentaly misquoted by Kasey a different motorcycle companies sales price that was going on. and told me that there was nothing I could do now, but if I wanted to send in a picture of me on my motorcycle he would "place it on the homepage" to make up for my troubles. JP advised me that I would receive all of the paperwork to my home, and not my fathers.
On or about May 11th my father received the first bill from Suzuki with a price of 209$ per month and 17.9% APR. I called Suzuki to disput it and they advised me my name was no where on the loan and they could not discuss this account with me. My father called them to add my name so I could discuss the agreement with them, at which time Suzuki advised him that they were not allowed to discuss this account with anyone other then him, because the loan was only in his name, and not mine. my father received the title to the trailer which has both of our names on it, but it is to a different loan company. so as of right now, my father has 3 different loans out through 3 different companies, and my name is no where on the motorcycle loans. Even though the driver initialed the change directly on the contract that we signed, the change was not put on the contract at all.
I finaly after 2 months was able to get my name added as an "authorized" person to speak about the accounts(NOT put on the loan)
When I called Suzuki they advised me that the rate was never changed, and I would have to disput it and send in the sales receipt with their initials on it. That is when I found out about my accounts had REVOLVING interest rates on them, and finance charges for both motorcycles were nearly $400 per month, which means anything OVER that amount goes towards the balance of the $30,000 I owe for a 7K motorcycle and a 10K motorcycle. and If I pay the normal payments every month, my balance will actually INCREASE so I could be paying on these motorcycles for 10-20 years without even putting a dent in the already overcharged prices. It was a CREDIT card that I had actually gotten my FATHER approved for, and not a motorcycle loan after all.
I have already filed a complaint with BBB shortly after and more then 2 months later, I still have never received a call from BBB. The only thing that I had gotten was the company told me that if I dropped the BBB complaint, they would refund the two late payments I received due to the bills being sent to my fathers house in TN. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!
Any suggestions?? I have a meeting with a lawyer tomorrow, but I dont know what else I can do!!! HELP!!

Well I most sincerely apprectiate your "suggestions" but I have a question to whomever you are...Why would you go to www.ripoffreport.com and search for Route 66 Powersports if you think so highly of them? I personaly think that you are employeed or are a friend of an employee of the company. It isnt merely the fact that I "didnt" research my purchase well enough. It is the fact that they fraudulently deceived me just to make a sale. If it is all my "fault" then it wouldnt be a pending lawsuit in Washington County Maryland. I have taken legal action, and the finance company and manufactures of the motorcycles are involved as well. From the way things are going now, all is in my favor:)
Thanks again for your suggestions!

Dear Jessica,
I have read your arguements and comments in regards to Route 66 Powersports. It sounds like you are trying to take out your frustrations on someone other than yourself.
I have personally done business with this particular company. From my experience they are a very knowledgable company and they have great customer service. I recently purchased my first bike from them and couldn't be more happy.
I had a couple of questions and they were more than happy to answer them for me. I would suggest to you that in the future you do a little more research as to what you're purchasing and how it is being purchased.
It is not anyones fault but yours. I understand you feel "ripped off" but all of your concerns could have been avoided or taken care of in a respectable manor.
In the future, before you "rip on" a company, maybe you should get your information straight and ask questions before it gets out of hand.
In regards to you concerns with the financing, maybe you should have had your father read the terms before having him sign.
Sincerely,
Jessica

BBB has "administratively closed" my report on this company, without contacting me a SINGLE instance

A little update. I have had to hire a lawyer paying $4,000 out of my pocket for a retainer fee, which doesnt include trail or court hearing costs, or % of the settlement, if received.
BBB has "administratively closed" my report on this company, without contacting me a SINGLE instance(goes to show what being a BBB member does for you right?)
I sent in a copy of the sales receipt which was fixed, crossed out, and initialed, to HSBC for my disput, and they denied it, stating it was handwritten and ineligable. so I am stuck with %15.99 interest and $210 dollar minimum payment on the Suzuki.
ARGHHHHHHHHHH I just want to rip my hair out, and I hope this company gets what is coming to them!!
