My wife and I had applied online for a unsecured loan for $5000.00 for a down payment on a home. Mr Roy Watson contacted me on 7-21-08 and informed me tht I had been approved for the loan, but with my credit history I would need to pay a collteral payment of $800.00. I was not to sure of this but my wife talked me into this. I sent the money via westner union on 7/24/08 to a Omar Taylor. Mr Watson then told I could expect the money on 7/25/08.

On that date no money was put in my account. I called Mr Watson who then informed that I needed to pay a insurance payment of $700.00. Again I did like he asked and he said the money would be in my account on 7/26/2008, no money ever appeared. I called Mr Taylor numerous times finally getting him on Tuesday 7/29/2008. At that time he told me the funds was on hold. I requested a refund and was told he was working on the paper work. We are out $1624.00, no house and now cannot pay our rent.

If OP needed to borrow $5000 to buy a house, & loosing $1500 = they cannot pay the rent

then I question whether OP can really afford to buy a house. Houses cost lots of money beyond the mortgage, whether new or used. Used houses always need repairs ($$$), while new houses always need something added like storm windows ($$$). And if you own a house, you MUST have a ''rainy day $$$ fund''.

Then there are real estate taxes.

I remember looking at a house in upstate NY. When I asked the RE agent ''What are the real estate taxes?'',
She looked in her notes and said ''$1400 per year.''
That to me seemed low for NY, so I asked "Are there any other taxes?''
''Yes''. She said.
What are they?'' I asked.
''There are the school taxes.''
[School taxes are billed seperately & in a different month in NY than are ''real estate taxes'' ]
''Well,'' I asked ''what are the school taxes?''
''Ummm...'' as she looked in her notes, ''about $2800 per year.''
So- $4200 per year just for those two taxes.

Then there is insurance. This can be $500 to $2000 per year- or more.

The list goes on. And to top it off, OP just got scammed with a phony loan scam.

You NEVER have to pay money up front for a personal loan. Do you not know this ?? That should have tipped you off immediately that this was a scam. I guess you know by now that you'll never see ANY of the money they promised, nor the money you paid. Wise up. You're on their list now.
