On April 1, 2004 I was directed by MySimon.com to Royal Camera as the best priced supplier of the Konica-Minolta Dimage digital camera I was seeking. I ordered the camera on-line for $238.00 plus $59.99 S&H (1st ripoff). I printed the invoice when I charged the purchase to my credit card.

I later received a call from a rep at Royal Camera confirming my purchase (highly unusual) and pressurizing me to purchase additional accessories/warranties. I told them all I wanted was the camera, I already had batties/chargers and was satisfied with the standard K-M waranty.

The camera arrived within a week and I was quite satisfied.

However when I received my credit card statement Royal Camera had charged me $369.98 an overcharge of $71.99 (2nd ripoff). The credit card company issued a conditional credit when I complained. Royal Camera however refused responsibility indicating it had sent me a U.S. camera not the international camera advertised(3rd ripoff). Further they said they had forgotten to send the battery/charger/warranty pack and would get them out that day. I declined an offer for overpriced items I had not order and requested my refund. They refused.

I have reported their practices to MySimon.com, my credit card company, the Federal Trade Commisssion, the New York State Attorney General and my own West Virginia State Attorney General.

These people need to be stopped. I think it may be time for a Clas Action suit on behalf of all customers of Royal Camera and asscoiated companies
