We had a terrible experience from start to finish. We thought getting married on board a cruise ship and letting the cruise line handle everything was a great idea we were sadly mistaken. The coordinators were extremely unhelpful and unprofessional it seemed like our wedding was the first wedding this company ever had. I dont have time to list every single detail of our nightmare wedding, so I am only going to mention the specific items that involve our monetary dispute with them:

1. The ceremony started 30 minutes later than the invitation indicated and the reception was stopped 30 minutes earlier than the invitation indicated. This lost hour was a huge problem because the whole wedding was only scheduled to last 3 hours because the ship had to set sail its not easy to fit the ceremony, reception, and all the traditions in 3 hours, and its impossible to fit it all in 2 hours.
2. Due to the lost hour, the complimentary bar was only open a maximum of one hour and many people did not receive complimentary cocktails as a result (we paid for 2 hours).
3. Due to the lost hour, there was still a line for the buffet when guests were asked to leave, and many people did not get a chance to eat.
4. Due to the lost hour, the dessert table (cakes etc) was virtually untouched because the lucky few that got a chance to eat dinner never had time for dessert.
5. Also due to the lost hour, the DJ played only 5 songs: 1. Song for Bride/Groom first dance 2. Song for Bride/Bridesmaids 3. Song for guarder toss 4. Song for bridal toss 5. Song for last dance

Sadly, the cruise line doesnt think they did anything wrong and insulted us further by offering us a $200.00 credit for our next cruise and a free wedding vow renewal ceremony if we ever want to renew our vows needless to say we refused their offer. We paid $5,358.38 for a buffet and one hour of free cocktails for the guests, $1,786.13 for an additional hour of free cocktails for the guests, $700 for the DJ, and $595.38 for the wedding cake. We decided to be more than fair and only dispute the cost of the DJ and the cost of the additional hour of free cocktails with our credit card company ($2486.13 total). So far they have not responded to the dispute. My advice is DO NOT plan your wedding with this company!

Royal Caribbean - Royal Romance - The Wedding Experience - had to carry everything on board ourselves, organize our own wedding rehersal, coordinators gave the corsages to the wrong people, threatened to arrest a guest and not let him board the ship

I changed my mind, I decided to take the time to mention some other things that happened at our wedding so people can get a detailed picture of what we had to deal with:

1. When we arrived, we were told we had to carry everything on board ourselves. So we had to have our guests carry on vases, wedding favors, etc since the cruise line refused to help.
2. We had to organize our own wedding rehearsal because none of the wedding coordinators could get things organized or figure anything out. In fact, while we were in the middle of it, they decided to rearrange the alter and other items - this changed where people had to stand so we had to start all over again.
3. The coordinators didnt listen to a word of the brides instructions in the months prior, so while she was trying to get ready, they kept bugging her with questions that they should have known the answers to if they had paid any attention to their instructions.
4. The wedding coordinators put the wrong corsages on the wrong people when everyone was lined up and the ceremony was about to begin all they had to do is look at the brides instruction sheet and they wouldnt have made this mistake.
5. We were told by one of our wedding coordinators we did not have to put young children on the guest list. So when one of our guests arrived with his small child (who was not on the list), he was told he couldnt board. Then when he argued with them, they threatened to arrest him. He was never allowed on board and he missed our wedding.
