I was suprised to get a message from Dusty at Royal Prestige, saying I that I was entered into a drawing and won a free vacation package, no purchase required. This was suprising considering I had not entered anything and am very careful of who I give my information to. Being that I am a paralegal, I immediately searched and found this site, thank GOD, and was prepared before I called back.

When I called they said Dusty was gone for the day. They asked if I was from Denver (they did not ask a name) and said I had won a vacation package. Wow, how did she know that! Amazing!

She started to go on about it and I stopped her. I said, "look, I am aware of the deceptive practices of your company and have no intention on letting you scam me, I just have 2 things to say. 1- remove my number from your list and don't call me again 2- I would like to know how does it feel to help rip off young couples and ruin their wedding experiences? Do they pay you well? Do you sleep at night?"

She said "whatever" and hung up.

Now, only one place had my information and that was David's Bridal. I filled out an online appointment request. (which I never got a call back. Well.... not from them. I got a call from Dusty though. Yipee!) I just called them and asked for a corporate number or e-mail. They would not give me one. I asked them if they knew about this company and what they were doing and asked them to please remove my information if they

are going to sell it. She said they don't do that and has never heard of this scam before. She assured me she would tell her manager and report to corporate. Whatever.

I am so disapointed with Davids Bridal. I thought they were a reputable company and was so excited to go and try the dresses I picked out from there. But now, I won't do business with them because I can't trust them. I don't want my wedding party to go for fittings and have their information sold.

My first thought was that they didn't know and maybe their information had been intercepted, but after reading all the complaints, I know that if that was the case, it would have been fixed. And it hasn't which means they know and they are willingly unleashing a nightmare on people. Ironic that they provide a service that contributes to the happiest moments of peoples lives yet they use that service to destroy it.

I would suggest to all those who have been scammed. It is great to post here so people can protect themselves. But you have to report to the FCC and the district attorneys office for Wisconsin where they hail from. The DA is required by law to answer all consumer complaints. Seriously it works, because I complained about t-monile and the DA followed up with me and just by reporting to them, t-rip off gave me my money back.

Don't bother with the BBB. Royal Prestige won't care. The FCC can start an investigation and you wont have to get a lawyer. They have to have enough complaints though.

Also, find out where they got your information and report them too. I am going to do that with David's Bridal. These companies can't get your information unless someone is willing to sell it to them. Stop the companies from selling the info and stop the scam artists!

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
