I too recieved a phone call telling me I have won a free trip, a $500 dollar on-line gift certificate ( you only have to pay the shipping)and more, if I brought my fiance along to a 1 hr seminar with 'no obligation to buy'. After sitting through the presentation only to find out that the cheapest cookware package was $2000 (it comes with a free knife set!), my fiance and I knew we couldn't afford to spend that on pots and pans 3 weeks before our wedding day. When we informed our salesman that,he told us that if we bought the cheapest package WITHOUT the knife set, he would only charge us $1935.

Wait a minute? I thought the knife set was free! If so, why is he taking $65 off the price? If the knife set was really free, then the package should be $2000 with OR without them! The first obvious rip-off of the night. After telling him AGAIN that we could not afford it, he suggested that we put it on our bridal registry and when I tried explaining that almost all of our gifts had been purchased already, he immediatly became very rude, cutting me off in mid sentance with "HERE! Enjoy this!"(he snarled this sarcasticly with a glare on his face as he thrust the free trip voucher and on-line gift certificate at me) As I tried to ask him a question, he just walked away from me.

After that, I did not at all feel bad about not buying the product, and when I got home, I went on-line to see what I could buy with my on-line gift certificate. I had trouble finding anthing I would even want, and when I did pick out 3 items totaling $90, I was shocked to learn that I would have to pay $60 for just shipping! What a rip-off! It was all JUNK!!!!

I have a question for all of you though..I am now left with a free 3-day 2-night all-inclusive hotel stay to a Viva Resort in the Bahamas. I understand that this does not include air fare, and that I would be required to put down a $50 good faith deposit for my room to be booked. Has anyone ever taken Royal Prestige up on their free trip offer? Is this for real? Or will I be out $50 and a couple hundred after my plane lands and I find out there has been no room booked for me? I want to go, as I have looked up the resort on-line and it has gotten good reviews. I feel that the least I could do for all of us who got scammed is to spend their money after not have bought anything myself! They obviously deserve it!
