I was contacted by a recruiter at rph on the go (Julie lewandowski) and was asked to do a shift with them, my confirmation e-mail didn't mention anything about mileage but I worked with them previously and they always paid mileage, 1 day before the shift I received another e-mail that said in the bottom that they won't pay mileage and the recruiter's contact number to call her in case of any questions. I picked up the phone and told her that I can not do this shift because it's an hour drive each way and I will get back to her after checking the construction conditions on the road, I called her back 5 minutes later the recepionist Joanne claimed she can not find her so I left her a message on the voice mail saying that I will not do the shift till she contacts me with a confirmation for the mileage. on the day of the shif I called in the morning because she hasn't got back to me and I talked to her she said ok fine I will get my manager to approvee it just put the drive time on the time sheet and send it to me.

After the shift I did exactly what she said and sent in the time sheet with the drive time and the mileage on it.

I received the check less the drive time so I sent her an e-mail but she would not get back to me, I called her but joanne everytime kept saying she can not find her then I told her give me her Manager's name and ask her to call me because this is not professional.

I called accounting they said that someone had whited out the are of the travel time and mileage and suggested to call a manager.

I called her manager who fell short of telling me I was a liar and took her side he said verbal agreement doesn't mean anything to them and she doesn't have the authority to approve the drive time herself and advised me next time to get things in writing because they don't acknowledge verbal agreements.

Also this company forces you to take your lunch on the premises and not allow you to go outside the pharmacy area which is illegal in California and there is a class action suit against one big chain because of that
