First let me say, I am glad that you will not back down to this guy over his threats. This is his M.O. When I read the article in the Star Ledger, I and my wife agreed to write this report. I do not usually file this kind of report on the web, But people should avoid this builder at all costs(my opinion).

We went through the same issues with this builder in Bailey Green, Frankford, NJ. He was the niceness guy to deal with before the closing, but after ... (I will edit my language ;) )

Some of our issues were: the roof leaked, which caused a severe mold problem in one of the bedrooms, flashing falling off the house, squeaky floors, doors that won't close, the main staircase that makes a loud cracking sound when you step on the landing, floor underlayment that is bowed upward (floors look like waves), cheap windows where parts were missing and falling off. Noisy heating system, air in the pipes which need to bled every heating season. In the winter cold air blowing into the house through the electric outlets and at the bottom of the walls. These are some of issues.

I contacted the builder with these issues and received no satisfaction, just run arounds and attempted quick fixes.
Example: When he sent some guy over to fix the leaky roof, the guy came over with a caulk gun with roofing tar and covered the entire shingle area with roof tar; needless to say this did not work, just made a big mess. I contacted my own roofer and he had to remove the entire section of roofing around the chimney because they was no flashing installed.

I had documented all these issues with video and in writing which I still have. Reported these issues to the Homeowners Ins. which stated we do not cover poor workmanship.

I finally hired an attorney and sued this guy for this and other uncompleted repairs and won my case in arbitration. (Now you know who I am Raffi.)
