Ruesch Motor Company / Ruesch Outboard Motors, Ruesch Motors, Ruesch Boating Motor Company, Ruesch Outboard Motor Company, London Melquist Ruesch Motor Company SCAM Fraud by Lon Melquist Cuenca, Ecuador (Main) Nationwide
“Ruesch Motor Company, Ruesch Outboard Motors, Ruesch Outboard Motor Company” owned by London Melquist sold to me an outboard motor that never worked. This is a lesson for me after ordering online an outboard motor for my Formula 330 Sun Sport boat. Actually, it wasn’t my first to buy from the company. Last January, this year, I bought from them spare parts for the mentioned boat brand and our transaction was good. I paid thru Master Card and the items were delivered to me after 5 days. I had a colleague that was also a customer so I never doubted their legitimacy.
September 6, 2016, I ordered another item, which was an assembled outboard motor compatible with my Sun Sport baby. It arrived after a week and I did all the installation. I noticed traces of rusty linings at first glance but it wasn’t a big deal for me at that time. And then the problem started when I turned on the engine to test the motor. It roared for a while but stopped. I restarted it and it stopped again. On my third attempt, it did not work anymore.
Maybe you are wondering why I am writing this complaint. Yes, I have reported the problem to the company. I called them already and asked for an exchange of item. Two service guys went to my yard and inspected the issue. On September 17, Ruesch Outboard Motors called me and said the problem is not covered by the warranty so they couldn’t give me any refund or exchange of item. I asked them why, while being really pissed like I could swallow them alive, and they said something may have gone wrong with the installation. They were indirectly blaming me for their defective item.
SO, that’s the story of how I lost $2,000.00 in just a month! BEWARE and verify the suppliers of you motor boat parts. Don’t do any transaction with RUESCH OUTBOARD MOTOR COMPANY.
