Dyes used on some online rug sales rugs are unstable and will stain porous floors...such as carpet and tile.  They use water color dye to make the pictures stand out.  The dye will come off with just a little dampness.

drop some water on the floor and rug.  Damp it up with a rag and the rag will be covered in dye.....and depending on your floor it will be stained.

Why,  what a crime to destroy these works of art ......   If you wanted to bring back some of the color why not use quality dye that is stable and will never come off?????

I just did that.  And then I tested 10 of my other EBAY and Esale and ecarpetgallery rugs etc.  and yes indeed.....all but 2 had unstable water soluble dye.  My white towel was covered in blue, black, red dye.  Especially on the edges of the rugs.

We never alter the state of the rug. The pictures of the product are taken as is. Not additional dyes are added to the rug. Our product descriptions clearly state the makeup of the carpet, and it's components. Including the dyes.

eCarpetGallery never alters the carpet in any way shape or form. We picture the carpet as is and never modify it from it's original state. We are also very clear on product descriptions what the carpet is composed of and what kind of dyes were used in the process of making the rug.
