Run away from Web Asylum! Run fast and run far; let me explain why:

We signed a contract with Web Asylum on May 9, 2016 to take content from my original website and improve upon its SEO and design/formatting. This was to include all original content and add in You Tube videos. By September of 2016, Web Asylum had all the materials it needed to complete this project.

Here is a quote regarding the content from Web Asylum, “I’m happy to use the copy you supplied. It’s your website.”

When my website’s completion went past the end of 2016, I made numerous attempts to contact Web Asylum. On January 24, 2017; I informed Web Asylum that I needed a dropdead completion date of March 31, 2017 as I intended to use the new website during one of my lectures at our annual Academy meeting.

On February 25, 2017 after multiple attempts to get an update, I offered to take a refund if this project was a problem to complete. The response I got was, “I've been working on your site, but I have had many distractions. My deadline is Mar 1, so we are in good shape.”

My website launched as I was on my way to the Academy meeting in early April 2017. When I complained about some of the formatting, copy, delays, and need for final punchlist items to correct spelling, etc.; the response I got was, “I'll call bullsh*t on that. Your comments on the content I wrote for you pissed me off - that what I write for my ophthalmologist clients doesn't work for you?” Being that my profession is Optometry, I don’t know why I’d want canned copy from a surgeon’s viewpoint.

The bottom line is I once again asked for a refund and not only was this refused, but I was told the MY domain and MY website would not be released to me without final payment for work done even though I expressed the desire to have a finished, high quality product; which this was not. So, my intellectual property was being held for ransom.

When the final payment was made, my domain was released but the website failed to transfer properly even with the help of two IT professionals. Now I’ve contracted with a professional company to redo what I wasted $2500 on with Web Asylum.

This company will no doubt try to justify what they did. They will probably say I am at fault. But, I am not alone in this situation. Just follow the links below and you will see this is common practice for Web Asylum!
