Run Local Locksmith Took advantage of us in our bad situation Internet
We were out of town and locked our keys in our car. After looking for a locksmith, we came across run local locksmith, who advertises a $15 locksmith service. We called and a local locksmith was sent to help. He arrived 20 minuted later, spent less than 3 minutes to simply unlock our car, then charged $165 for the service. My husband paid without a choice. When he told me about the charge, I was obviously upset. I called the office, talked to the manager, and was put off with only the explanation that this was a normal charge and that they do not issue refunds. When I explained to them that this was a way overpriced charge, and that I would complain on numerous sites, he told me that he would check with his office manager and call me back that same day.
I did not receive a call back. Big surprise. I called again and talked with him. He asked me if we had a signed receipt. I told him that we did. He said "There's nothing we can do. You signed a receipt and paid for it." After letting him know that he is very dishonest, and that I had called 5 random locksmiths to see what they would charge for the same service ($45, $45, $45, $50, and $65), I told him that I would follow through with my complaints to several sites so that, hopefully, nobody else will get ripped off as we did by this company.
Horrible. Dishonest. Awful.

No. We did not receive a quote. Unfortunately, we expected them to be fair with us.

Were you given a quote when you called? What was that quote? I'm not asking about the $15 ad.
