We received a nasty gram in the mail from a so called "collection agency" telling us that we owed 25 dollars for a subscription to Runner's World. My wife had maintained a subscription to Runner's World over a year ago but did not renew back in October of 2008. She has ignored the renewal notices in the mail. The recently received notice warns us to pay or risk damaged credit. We have not received a copy of Runner's World since September of 2008. My wife called the number on the mailing to complain and was told that this was an attempt to get us to renew and nothing else. My wife asked them to cancel the subscription (even though there was none) and also told them that she had planned on renewing at a later date but will now never subscribe to Runner's World again. This is about as low and shady as business practices get. Shame on Runner's World for employing such a low life business practice or business partner aimed at scaring people in to renewing. Has anyone contacted Runner's World directly to let them know what is going on? I can't believe that they would be directly involved with this scam but shame on them for allowing it to continue.
